Brett Hull did not kick in the winning goal, he kicked the puck up to his stick 0ff a rebound and put in the winner. His foot was legally in the crease after a shot had been taken and he was going for the rebound. Let it go man.

11/05/2016 - 4:26pm Link

Anyone have a link.

07/15/2016 - 6:54pm I believe this is actually

I believe this is actually good news, I was hoping this would occur, the army has a long history of doing this but to the benefit of secular values. El president has been slowly taking absolute control for some time. Hopefully this brings them back.

09/17/2015 - 9:40pm Felt the need to comment

on Spielman. It was clear that he called a fair game and really showed his deep understanding of the nuances of the game, no question. That being said, nothing will ever make up for the disgraceful performance he turned in a few years ago during the OSU game, continue lol saying it's been 8 or 9 years since UM had won, it was unprofessional and he should have been banned from ever doing another UM game, imo. How soon some of you forget, I can't .

09/09/2015 - 9:08pm Would rather

See Canteen at corner, if / when Lewis heads off to the pros in January, we are going to need him, that maybe jumping the gun somewhat but the position lacks anything approaching a blue chip to offset the loss.

09/03/2015 - 6:49pm Yes, great news

I have been pacing for two hrs, no stream options were working . This is great news, not as good as having AC/DC tickets but to each their own I guess. Go blue

08/14/2015 - 11:13pm I just can't make up my mind on these, I've 360 twice!

Yes it's Possible ). Jersey can stay but those pants, dunno.

08/07/2015 - 7:02pm Unfortunately , this is correct. Still, a great job by coach

Hoke.

10/22/2014 - 3:59pm And that's a fair comment

to make regarding choice, a draft when dealing with professionals is of course a different thing, with unfettered choice, the league would soon eat itself as a handful of teams would dominate. When dealing with young people at those ages, they should not be put into a situation where they have to decide between one or the other, theyshould be free to choose both. The NCAA has finally begun to unravel and the sooner the better, their nefarious schemes have embroiled to many lives. But does the CHL have that same burden of deceit and self serving history? I would argue no. Although it is true that a handful of teams are worth money now, many others are small town, municipally owned entities, like the Petes, that are not money making machines, but provide a real service to the towns they play in. The education package is not ideal, it needs to be for a set amount of years regardless if you take a shot at higher hockey. I'm just not sure that blaming the CHL for the actions of a handful of teams ( Windsor, London, Portland etc) is completely fair anymore then blaming the NCAA for Miss St is fair. It's the rules in place that are the issue. I just can't help but think how much better the NCAA teams would be if they had more CHL vets in it cause say what you will, the CHL is one heck of a hockey league and those boys are the result of years of hard work, sacrifice and money from a lot of families around here. They should be able to experience both.

10/22/2014 - 1:25pm Curious why some NCAA

Rules make sense for Brian in his never ending slams on the CHL. Why is not okay for young teenagers to make some minor pocket change for living expenses, fifty a week makes you not an amateur? The rules on this make no sense, as do many of the current rules for football, which he agrees with full throated. These kids ar 16 and 17 when they need to make a choice. How about letting them play in the NCAA after three or four years of major junior? Problem solved.

05/24/2014 - 9:10pm I have Shaw cable and it has

I will just keep checking then.

05/12/2014 - 11:51am Tickets

I want to go to the Northwestern game this year with my wife, whats the best way to get tickets, aside from StubHub of course. Any thoughts?

03/27/2014 - 7:01pm Passing them through

I have to say I hear this line of crap about passing them through, accountability, yada yada yada . First, not every child is meant to be a university level student regardless of how well they play football. In the elementary system, holding a child back is not done for one very specific reason, It Doesn't Help. See the next year, they may understand the course work better having done it twice, but then the year after, They are right back to being where they were before only now their friends are in a different grade and they are FOREVER feeling dumb and worthless. Learning disabilities are not fixed, they are better managed as we go on.

01/24/2014 - 12:51pm He is performing well but....

Mackinnon is playing at a high level and looks like a shoe-in. defense in the NHL is a tough way to break in to that league. Seth Jones will eventually be the best dman in that draft year.

01/09/2014 - 11:43am Curious

I still have not heard much about his reasons for leaving his previous position, on a perennial contender.

07/16/2013 - 5:25pm excellence

That is what I take away from the years I have spent enjoying this blog. I think that Brian's writing style has continued to improve over time and of course what I love is that he had the balls to not pursue his degree choice because he knew that it would not fulfill him in the way that pursuing a passion would, and that he made something special for himself from just an idea, into one of the very best sports blogs on the internet today. Congrats and thanks.

05/03/2013 - 6:22pm Ace, I know exactly what you

Ace, I know exactly what you mean man, he was the voice and the essence of Saturday football. I miss him almost each fall weeken without fail, most likely always will. Another voice for me is Bob Cole, simply the voice of Saturday night growing up and grown. I wanted to give a shout out to the Red Wings and their fans, welcome back to the east, we missed you. Next years playoffs are going to be special. Go Leafs

02/27/2013 - 1:37pm Toronto

is a great spot for Trey, providing they can keep the pick traded to Houston.

08/30/2012 - 7:29pm As to the CHL paying a

As to the CHL paying a stipend, it seems to me that the best solution is to allow CHL players to attend NCCA schools after completing three yrs of hockey with their club. How making fifty dollars a week makes you a pro is beyond reason. This way, they can play in the best development league in the world and then, at nineteen, attend a university program, on scholarship and get an education they can use. The CHL does offer to pay for this but only up to 18 months after you leave the league and not at all if you play professionally anywhere. Michigan for example, would get some outstanding players who have played big time hky, the level of which the NCAA can never offer, while entertaining its fans and giving the players a first rate education. Guess thats too simple.

08/14/2012 - 7:21pm Disagree

I disgree with a lot of the negative attitude towards anything this company tries to do. IMO, we need a new look for the basketball and those shorts look like a huge step in the right direction. Fab Five shorts? UMM, that great look has been done, all the way from Arkansas to UCLA and back. I  mean board shorts are Still popular, its been fifteen years.Twenty since the boys were doing it. Lets go with a new type of fabric and something that is the next look in line, much as the Fab Five did in their day. Adidas has done a fair job of keeping our look traditonal , MSU aside.

03/04/2012 - 1:20pm thread

Anyone have a video thread?

09/12/2009 - 7:51pm B-car

Um get serious fellas, he got beat like an old drum. Of course they are good wideouts, Floyd has Sunday written all over him, but that is the nature of the beast @ the BCS level. If that was Trent, you'd be flame thrower all over him. That was not an acceptable performance in the slightest. Warren on the other hand, made some nice plays and is on his way to adding to the list of outstanding corners. Bobbie will adjust and come back harder cause that is the nature of the guy, but to suggest he was anything but torched is just M-coloured glasses to the nth. Anyway, why dwell on that aspect, this is coming together and the dark days are behind us, ahead.... BCS baby!!!!!(2011)

09/07/2009 - 4:47pm Gerg

The intensity was off the charts, the tackling for the first time in years was solid, fly to the ball type of thing and the whole team was focused. Thanks FreeP, that may have helped set the tone for what will be a consistent NC hunt, circa 2011 and beyond.
