I would like a shot a Yale…

I would like a shot a Yale.(1) They are better than people think, (2) I like the association with top academics, always a part of Michigan’s Public Ivy persona.

Maybe. But had Johns stayed…

Maybe. But had Johns stayed I don’t think it’s a slam dunk they would have made the tournament with him.

This Michigan team has grown…

This Michigan team has grown up a lot over the last few weeks. Defensive growth  has made the difference. Yes, it took a Hail Mary to keep us in the Wisconsin game. But we were also playing without Jett. Most important of all, Bufkin is playing lights out and so is Dug. We are playing well enough to make the tournament without having to be a play-in team. Book it!

Jerry Palm is  often off the…

Jerry Palm is  often off the mark, But bless his soul. Any port in a storm— any entry point into the tournament is welcome.

Sky is the limit with Adam…

Sky is the limit with Adam Coon. What a great Michigan wrestler he was, and what a great great representative for Michigan he is.

Disagree. Balas is cautious…

Disagree. Balas is cautious and rarely is wrong. He also is a very good writer. I trust him far more than any of his competitors. He also has an advantage of getting info from EJ, the best recruiting reporter in the business.

Well if Stanford accepted…

Well if Stanford accepted him, his academic record must be outstanding. He is probably a hell of a player, too. Here’s hoping we win his commitment.

Harbor and JD remain very…

Harbor and JD remain very good possibilities.  But in today’s college football world, NIL is as important as winning. Both recruits  could be delaying making a commitment to extract higher NIL offers. That is the way of the world in college football recruiting today. And any commitment given means nothing until signing day.

Five is not such a terrible…

Five is not such a terrible spot. If ND beats Clemson Saturday night, we will probably move up to number 3. And 4 is the worst case scenario, assuming we beat Rutgers the way most teams beat Rutgers.

He knows he has a really…

He knows he has a really good QB…

He knows he has a really good team…especially on defense

He knows he has a decent shot at beatingOhio State, ,

He knows that if he makes the Final Four that GA and AL are down a notch this year and that with McCarthy, he can be competitive against anyone.

No! Not at all. He only lost…

No! Not at all. He only lost his job—- not the guaranteed greenbacks, of which there are plenty.

Well the good news for Miami…

Well the good news for Miami is that the Canes only lost by 14 points and the D kept MTSU under 50 points. And with Hurricane Ian approaching from the south, perhaps  some of the Canes who need it most will be blown into a classroom and improve grades enough to stay eligible.

Michigan 47- Maryland 37

Michigan 47- Maryland 37

DeBord would have been a…

DeBord would have been a huge improvement over RR— like Grand Canyon size better.

This sounds a little like…

This sounds a little like sour grapes to me. First of all, Lloyd was not incompetent in adopting to the spread offense. Let’s get that straight. And where did you come up with the idea that he invited RR? I never heard or read that. That doesn’t mean he didn’t. But I would like to see a source on that.

In winning a (partial) NC,…

In winning a (partial) NC, Lloyd did a lot to uphold the tradition and prestige of Michigan football. And he was clairvoyant on RR. But wins or losses aside, his greatest contribution was his insistence on honesty and high moral direction for the program. For that I have no issue in naming a tunnel after him. Of course, this is likely to start a few tunnel vision jokes. So be it.

You hate to think of all…

You hate to think of all those upset oil barons who shelled out millions so Texas A&M could flat out pay athletes
up front and secure the nation’s best incoming class. What a shame!  This loss could help us a lot at the end of the regular season if voting is close for a playoff spot.

So if he commits early…

So if he commits early enough, he can help recruit Olympic caliber track teammates. Then we get a boost in the all-around rankings and nuke the snot of Stanford in the The Director’s Cup or whatever they call it.

With a player as good as…

With a player as good as Harbor is, there is no way around it. We are going to be competing against schools that will throw lots of money at him. So sell our academics as the cherry on the top and stress the number of pros Michigan has put into the NFL today vs. South Carolina. And make Michigan’s track coach a part of Michigan’s presentation.

The number of points…

The number of points Michigan is favored by against CSU should in no way detract from the fun and enjoyment of watching Michigan probably win this game in a cakewalk.  Just win, baby.  The Victors will play no matter what, the banner will be touched by all the players, it's Michigan football. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!  Nothing beats  being in Michigan Stadium in the fall.

If past is prologue, yes…

If past is prologue, yes. But every season brings a new set of challenges, tons of new players we know nothing about who could excel—-not to mention unpredictable weather issues. Still, if the offense is as good as predicted, less field goal attempts and more extra points is a welcome possibility. And we know the punting is in good hands. Having a healthy Ronnie Bell might actually improve kick returns, too.

Wildly interesting. Thank…

Wildly interesting. Thank you. And moving  from 10th to third on the depth chart in a couple of weeks is a feather in your cap and something to be proud of.

Emotional maturity often…

Emotional maturity often lags behind physical maturity. I am glad we are giving this guy another chance. His grades must have been pretty darn good. Whatever he did at Alabama and Houston is in the rear view mirror now. The nine sacks at Tennessee’s middle brother are nothing to sneeze at. Chances are he’s going to play extra hard if he something to prove. And it sounds as if he has a lot to prove, with the athletic skill set to do so.

As nice as the double pass…

As nice as the double pass was against Iowa, I wish it had been saved for either Georgia or 2022 opponent such as Sparty  or Penn State.

Take the private school and…

Take the private school and greater individual attention that will challenge your son more. He will have plenty of opportunities to meet and socialize with girls outside of school. That. Is a zero worry issue.

Call Hart’s title what you…

Call Hart’s title what you want. He needs to be an offense or defense coordinator before he can become a head coach. Get that experience, and the job offers will come.

There is a reason they are…

There is a reason they are 10-2: Their pass defense is very good. They have the top center on the country. They are very patient.

Tickets start t $65.  It's not the Verizon Center where the Wizards play. It's at a smaller, newer arena in SW Washington, I think-- probably somewhat near th wharf area.

You could very well be right…

You could very well be right with Nunez.

The fact that Jones is…

The fact that Jones is widely viewed as an upgrade to Smith last year is an amazing recruiting coup for JH. Because Smith was damn good.

Regardless: We will hear it…

Regardless: We will hear it’s a sellout and there will be a PA  announcement thanking everyone for being part of the largest crowd in America that Saturday— I’m guessing 106, 213 on the nose.

Huh?

Huh?

We did play hard and there…

We did play hard and there is much to look forward to. 11-1 would be great season and it is still possible, especially with Ohio State being a home game. The comeback starts by getting back on track against IU next Saturday.

We disagree. I do not…

We disagree. I do not believe my post was fucking bad. Sorry. I apologize if you do not like the thread. It seems to have generated a lot of interest.  But there is nothing wrong with suggesting we are on track to maybe win a football NC if we get by State on the road. Please! Ohio State has already been beaten. They ain’t such hot shit that Harbaugh can’t take them down. Adios Brown. He had no clue how to play them. Now there  is a new defensive coordinator here who has schemed for much better teams than Ohio State. New game management! New day.! And we will have the best player on the field. When was the last time that happened when we played Ohio State? Too many pussies on this board are afraid of Ohio State. Hey…they are good. But so are we. Actually, I think beating Sparty away may be harder than beating the Bucks at home. Which is why I think if we get by Sparty this weekend.. hell yes we could win a NC. I did not say we would. But we certainly could.
I’ll worry about GA and Alabama if and when the time comes. They, too, take craps and put their pants on one leg at a time.

He is a good coach and…

He is a good coach and recruiter apparently. Kudos to Jay. But it’s hard to blame posters here for feeling uneasy about nepotism.

Exactly. Transfers are…

Exactly. Transfers are common at Michigan but  not Juco athletic transfers—Juco grades can be good but the classes could  be on what Admissions consider to be lightweight topics.
