08/22/2013 - 5:19pm Hawaiian War Chant

I believe that Hawaiian War Chant & Temptation both started getting played in the 60s or 70s.

Tempatation is heard often because a section of it gets used for 3rd downs.

Hawaiian War Chant is played during the post game show after home games, and may be played at homecoming during the game.

1. Ability to hide stickies - I'd like to request this feature as well.

Not sure who the dev for the app is but if they read the thread.  Menu button is on phone in ICS, but it doesn't launch, so if this option is already there apologize for suggesting it.

If not if you add an option menu, you can store stiky preference:

SharedPreferences settings = getSharedPreferences("MGoBlog", 0);
SharedPreferences.Editor editor = settings.edit();
editor.putBoolean("hideStickies", hideStickesMode);

Then change the service url so that it calls:
node.json?fields=nid,title,created,sticky&parameters[type]=forum&parameters[sticky]=0

If hide stickies is true.
01/24/2012 - 8:24pm Rendering vs Reality.

The renderings look nice.

Think the fans will end up disappointed, if they have to use a hand me down instead?

08/18/2011 - 2:22pm Oh NOES!

I am afraid thats why it's a night game this year.  So they can have that.  Special K, is goign to do the mix board for them, and Dave Brandon will have a wardrobe malfunction when he spills pizza on his tie.

I looked into subscribing to this:  http://video.btn.com/allaccess/index-splash.html

But as far as I can tell the games are not included in the streaming option for people in the united states.  This looks like the program guide: http://video.btn.com/allaccess/?school_code=mich

I belive http://www.bigtenticket.com/bigten/  includes games, but you had to figure out a way to appear international  (maybe via a proxy server or vpm), to stream.  It is blocked for US / Canada ISPs.

You can get it on satellite.

Alternatively, and the choice I'd recommend.  Watch it with your fellow alumni!

Why axiomatically of

Why axiomatically of course.

First off, that's axiomatically wrong, because the best pudding is chocolate.

Secondly, the organic structure of tapioca makes it a jiggling bowl of potential death. Tapioca is extracted from the root of the plant Manihot Esculenta. Due to a high concentration of cyanide, it is poisonous in its raw form and lethal if prepared improperly! [takes a drink of water]

So if we assume Euclid to be correct in his fifth postulate we can conclude:

I am NOT dead
I am NOT a female
I am NOT carrying a gun
I am NOT the moon

08/15/2011 - 3:03pm Eastbay

I've ordered from eastbay in the past.  They have never challenged anything.  They have some great cash back deals sometimes if you watch sites like fat wallet or slickdeals.

Try and order now, if you want by season start though.  They took 2 weeks on my last jersey.

10/07/2010 - 3:55pm Don't get discouraged.

I applied to the College of Engineering late summer / early fall of '99.

I had a 34 on my ACT, and a 3.8 - 3.9 GPA.  I had been involved in extra curriculars (drum major of high school mmb), and won a citizenship award from my city.

I ended up waitlisted, while most of my friends (most with worse grades / scores) got accepted.

It was probably a combination of the college, luck, and my essay.

But I finally got accepted in late spring.  The one friend who didn't went to a different school, applied as a transfer student, and got in the following fall.

If it's what you want don't let the first no, or wait list discourage you.  Consider it a challenge and keep working.

You should look at publishing that data!  http://www.odata.org/

I'd say monetize it, but I assume it would just result in a C&D.

09/21/2010 - 11:00am Question about impact of special teams struggles.

Great article, a follow question:

If you adopt this strategy instead of a traditional, 'take the field goal' strategy, due to a poor field goal unit, what is the average impact on your scoring offense per drive?

09/16/2010 - 11:06am RSS Link

Try:

mgoblog.com/rss.xml

or add http:// in front of the feed burner one.

09/16/2010 - 5:38am dmblue - Mobile Version.

If you have a smart phone, you can use rss and :

http://feeds.feedburner.com/mgoblog  to act as a psuedo mobile version.

But yeah, and copy of the site reformatted for mobile or using a mobile style sheet would be great.

09/16/2010 - 3:34am Thanks!

Would you have an objection to someone building off the http://mgoblog.com/services/xmlrpc services the application uses?

If you're ok with it, shoot me an email at jintempe At gmail, I wanted to throw together a quick consumption only copy of the app for my phone, until an android one is available.

09/15/2010 - 7:33pm Catholics for Michigan.

I am Catholic, went to a catholic elementary.  My grand uncle is a priest and my grand aunt taught at a catholic college.  My mom taught at a catholic elementary.

I credit that upbringing with teaching me to love the maize and blue.

09/26/2009 - 2:00am Who is Bedford's Rival School Now?

We hated Whitmer (Toledo, OH) back when I was a student.

Do they have a rival now?

When I went to school at Bedford the team was really rough.
Glad to see them having a good season. Haven't had much luck since they left the GLL.

I've never noticed it not announced.
I thought they say 235 member MMB, because that is how many are on the field for the block M.

There are actually 300+, but the others are sitting in the stands, because they didn't make the pregame performance block that week. (There are weekly tryouts for the pregame and halftime slots)

I am a former MMBer.

It's a combination of things:
Direction of sound
A lot of reed instruments
Less people than some other bands.
Musicality (We didn't play all out much, concerned with pitch, being in tune, having more to give in spots that were supposed to be louder, etc.).

When I was in the band, we knew it was hard for some people to hear, but I didn't realize how much of an issue it was until I was out of the band and sat on the far side of the stadium, where you couldn't hear them at all.

I thought the band was louder this week than in week 1. I wish I could think of a solution, but other than doubling in size and putting half of them on the other end of the stadium (Go Homecoming Alumni Band!) I think there will always be dead spots all over the big house.

09/12/2009 - 11:40pm I heard someone say ND has

I heard someone say ND has 425 band members there.
I think the MMB used around 300 for halftime.

In my seats you couldn't hear the ND band except during halftime and pregame.

They sounded louder than the MMB during pregame, but pregame for Michigan is so physical, it is hard to be that loud.

I thought they were both had comparable volume for half time.
