Steve Kerr once got punched…

Steve Kerr once got punched by Michael Jordan in Bulls training camp (broke his nose, I think). Common denominator.

Is the star system supposed…

Is the star system supposed to project future as a College or NBA player? I had thought that it was for college. I think it does make a difference, especially in the last decade where the NBA game has evolved to be a totally different game then what is played in college.

Meanwhile, the pistons have…

Meanwhile, the pistons have won 3 in row and are 5-5 in the L10. Currently the 3rd worst record in the association with .5 game behind (ahead?) of the thunder.

This is what I'm referring…

This is what I'm referring to, the gap between the OOB line and the paint was throwing me off. Maybe that's common with schools that have painted OOB areas.

Somewhat related...

I found the base/side lines somewhat confusing with the single black line indicating out of bounds and then a thin non painted line then the colored paint for the rest of the OOB boundary (not sure if I'm describing that well). Is that common?

I was wondering if that impacted the final Kansas possession. The guy thought he was still in bounds, in the moment, because he foot wasn't in the paint?

All for expanding the Maize…

All for expanding the Maize Rage... also for not having the 9:15 PM Tuesday night tipoff.

That format was really fun…

That format was really fun and kept things from becoming a dunk contest. Would love to see that same format implemented for the actual All Star Game.

I watched both events as…

I watched both events as well. I don't know anything about Slopestyle maybe someone can clear this up for me. Are all of the features equally weighted when it comes to scoring?

It felt like the event was basically won or lost on the three jumps. I don't think a single person fell on the first 3 rail features and it didn't really appear like there was a ton of variation in what people were doing up top.

Has there been any news…

Has there been any news about the rescheduling of those games? All I have been able to see is that they were "postponed" which implies they will be played later. I keep checking to see if they show up as "cancelled".

So... would you rather him…

So... would you rather him not donate the $15k? $15k is still $15k more than $0 which is exactly equivalent to someone making 50k and donating $0.

I've never understood the obsession with people getting angry at the celebrity super rich making charitable donations.

I figured that was his NCAA…

I figured that was his NCAA Football (video game) rating.

Going into Spartan Stadium in 2018, after all the pre-game crap, and just dominating was awesome. It was also the introduction to the Paul Bunyan touchdown pose.

Tru Wilson is still playing?…

Tru Wilson is still playing? He was on the 2016 team

How different the season…

How different the season feels with fans, band, etc. compared to last season. I am so much more into in watching non-Michigan college football this year compared to last. I think I watched maybe a half of CFB last season.

I didn't lose the same interest in the NFL last year, which I felt was prepared to provide a much similar production value for the home viewer compared to college.

Hopefully not an extremely…

Hopefully not an extremely valuable starter for another team! The Pistons have a recent history of letting 2nd round picks go that turn out to be high level players for other teams. See:

- Khris Middleton

- Spencer Dinwiddie

- Bruce Brown

Glenn Robinson - GRIII was…

Glenn Robinson - GRIII was on the team in 2018-19.

I think his ceiling is more…

I think his ceiling is more of a Mo Speights role as a guy who can come off the bench and get buckets ("Mo Buckets") but can't defend at all so is limited in how often you can play them. Mo parlayed that role into an NBA Championship with the Warriors averaging 24 and 10 per 36 minutes (and 20 shots!) but only played 16 minutes a game.

Meh... I think there has…

Meh... I think there has been several studies that suggest that NBA players (at least superstars) hit their peak basketball performance at age 27. So if we had 8th year seniors playing, I would be a bit concerned.

Plus if these guys were actually that good, they would be in the league already.

I think they were arguing…

I think they were arguing that Jalen was still in possession of the ball when the shot clock went off, not that the ball didn't touch the rim. Regardless, it was a heady play by Jalen to basically shot put the ball at the basket to beat the clock.

Only a five minute review? In today's game that would've taken at least 10 minutes to sort out.

I would say both teams…

I would say both teams executed their game plans.

That's how LSU has played all season and it has worked (mostly). The shot selection was awful (in my opinion) but every shot is a good shot when it goes in. The thing that scared me is that in a single game sample that strategy can work and in a tournament setting can carry you to a NC if you can stay hot. Luckily they cooled off a bit in the 2nd half and M executed.

Now just need to get the B1G…

Now just need to get the B1G over the National Championship hump. 0 NCs in the last 20 years.

and while we're comparing…

and while we're comparing things that aren't related, my High School Football Team is the late 2000s > Michigan Basketball in the 2010s > Ohio State Football in the 2010s > Detroit Red Wings in the 2020s.

A bunch of 1 game samples…

A bunch of 1 game samples... remember the Oakland game at the start of the season? Anything can happen in a single elimination tournament. You play weird teams, you play weird line ups, you have limited time to prepare, there is just weird randomness all over the place. I think after the Iowa game the Big 10 is now 6-7 in the tournament. If Michigan and Maryland(?) win that's over .500 for the first weekend.

Why is this the first that I'm hearing of that?!?!

I think Gonzaga, Baylor and…

I think Gonzaga, Baylor and Michigan all have a pretty good shot at #1 seed in the Midwest Region.

Agreed.

Another thing that…

Agreed.

Another thing that I've noticed is that this team seems to do quite well at inbounding the ball from the baseline and sideline during crunch time. That may be due to the fact that they can inbound to basically anyone and have confidence that they will knock down at least one free throw. Some of the Beilein teams really struggled, at times, to even get the ball in which was nerve wracking.

Dude is a walking bucket... he'll be able to get his well into his 50s at any rec league, YMCA, gusmacker etc. Assuming he doesn't continue his basketball career at the next level.

and if you combined the coaches you'd have a very scary looking individual...

In this thought experiment you take one coaches height/look and the other coaches temperament. What's a better visual a 6'9 screaming Izzo or 5'? mellow Howard?

It's kinda sad to me that Alfonso Riberio AKA Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince is now known as the "fake Chris Paul annoying guy" to the majority of the population.

Kyle Juszczyk has probably been the best FB/H-back player in the league over the last 5 years. Watt for the Steelers is another good one.

Edit: After reading the order and seeing all of the exemptions my takeaway is that this is basically an no mass gathering (i.e. partying/tailgating) student order.

Steve Nash? What parts of his game are like Steve Nash outside of his complexion? A young Ray Allen is a much better comp for Herro.

I don't think they'll do…

I don't think they'll do anything now. Mid-season coaching changes in the NFL are pretty rare. If he was fired they would likely have to promote from within anyway, so nothing really changes until the next offseason.

Assuming Patricia gets fired, and I think he does, the Lions will be hiring their 4th new coach in less than 10 years. It still boggles my mind that they got rid of Caldwell who had a winning record with the organization.

I wonder if Duncan has any…

I wonder if Duncan has any regret about giving the quotes about his "imposter syndrome". It was a great read, but I'm sure he would have preferred it come out after play was done this season. It seems like that is all they talk about in the broadcast now. Clearly, he has shown that he belongs in the league. The transition of his minutes to Herro was likely the Heat's plan all along.

The 2020 edition of Michigan…

The 2020 edition of Michigan football wins more games than the 2019 edition of Michigan Football and more games than the combined win total of the 2019 and 2020 Detroit Lions.

There, I've said it.

For the guys that have already opted out, are they still enrolled with the University? I think that is a piece that gets missed a lot, they still have to be in (good) academic standing in order to play. I know the semester is only a couple of weeks old, but if they aren't enrolled anymore they can't play.

That game 7 was a bit of a let down after the Heat-Celtics game. That game had everything - Overtime, big defensive play down the stretch, Duncan Robinson scoring 6 points, nuns!
