Yes, hiring the right new coach would definitely infuse the women's program with a new sense of urgency. KBA has had incredible support here, and has failed to elevate this program these past 7 seasons beyond a perennial middle to lower-end B1G squad, which is unacceptable. Amaker to Beilein IS the hope. There are many better options out there for this program.
Yep, Amaker got us to 3rd in the B1G in 2003 and an NIT in 2004. So I think we have already seen her ceiling and padding the win totals vs. the LIUs, Morgan States, and Southerns is not helping. Don't know why she doesn't ask Yaklich for help on a better defensive scheme than her teams play; her D is painful to watch. And continuing to claim she's built the 'hardest working team in America' is specious at best; don't tell that to UConn or ND!
She has had way more than enough talent through the years. Reminds me a lot of Amaker. It is sad watching her mediocrity vs. Beilein in coaching this program. Would rather have Guevara or Borseth back. She will never win in the BIG, let alone compete for final fours...
