will the "new" button return?
I realize that the great MGoMeltdown created endless headaches and necessitated multiple changes for the site, but I'm wondering if the "new" button is a permanent victim of that unfortunate IT nightmare? Maybe it will just take a bit longer to reappear, but the "new" button/tag sure makes skimming through the comments a lot easier. Am I alone on this?

Man I hope so.

I see it above your initial comment

That just shows that new comments have been posted. It doesn't indicate what the individual new comments are like pre-malware MGoBlog.

I'm just hoping that these points are being tabulated somewhere. There are one or two people who got crazy negged since they've been off and I want to log on and see that.
And anyone who's joined since mid-January only has as many points as they have posts, it would be nice to see them get the love for good posts they've made.

I doubt the points are being tallied. I could be wrong, but I don't think we will wake up one morning and gain a ton of points that we could have been accumulating since the Great MGoBlog Meltdown of 2011.

No you're probably right. I'm assuming (and I'm no computer expert) that the old points were put into some kind of user specific file to be tallied, where right now it's just a visual icon for us.

I've kind of gotten used to not having the "new" button, but it sure makes reading long threads less time consuming when coming back to see responses.
I'm happy that we're back to having boxes around the comments, though. I much prefer this to the previous style where you couldn't quite tell who people were responding to in very long threads.

not sure if anyone else noticed, but I'm egotistical and go back to my old comments from the last day or so, to see if anyone replies. When the reply I made wasn't on the first page of the thread, it just goes to the thread and not straight to my comment, so I have to wade through to find it again. Minor annoyance, I know, but once in a while there is a blown up 8-page thread and it actually matters.

The Rich Text Editor isn't working in Chrome since the IE fix.

I'll add it to the list.
