Week 4 Chicken Littles vs. Pollyannas betting thread (for charity)

This thread is for people who like a wager but prefer to have their dollars go to charities rather than bookies. The Chicken Little vs. Pollyanna thing is just pessimists vs. optimists -- either one can bet. Last week I made some Pollyanna-ish bets and lost. I'm sticking to my optimist guns this week, see below. Here's a link to last week's thread.

Continuing from last week, wherein I lost both bets, got overexcited about donating to one of the recipients, and ended up giving away $30 more than I was supposed to. I will be more careful this week. If I lose, of course.

Same rules: Posters can offer bets on this weekend's game against BYU, and the first person to accept the bet locks it in. Loser of the bet gives the agreed-upon amount of money to the non-political charity of the winner's choice.

As with last week, I will open the betting with the following Polyanna bet: $20 says Taylor Mangum will have under 220 yards passing. If you accept and lose, please donate to, per usual, the Washington Animal Rescue League. They're still matching donations 1:1 through the end of the month. This week, do it for Luke Skywalker.

Same. I have no idea what a chicken little means or a pollyana or whatever.

Chicken Little thinks the sky is falling. Pollyanna thinks everything is peachy and wonderful. Are you feeling optimistic or pessimistic? Either way, you can make a bet.

I carried the title over from reshp1's threads last year. If it's confusing I can change it but I kind of liked it.

I started using those terms last year when the team was struggling but hadn't collapsed yet. People were getting pretty heated about if the team just needed more time to develop, or if the Hoke experiment was an unrecoverable failure. I figured I'd pit the two sides against each other and try to have some fun and do some good, hence "chicken littles" for the doom and gloom folks and "polly annas" for the lalalala, can't hear you folks.

Operation fade Auburn. I took Miss St +3 before they announced Jeremy Johnson was getting benched. Now I like the pick even more. Also, I doubled down on Arizona +3.5. They are a home dog, UCLA is coming off a tough game against BYU, and now have to adjust to the loss of Myles Jack. I put a small amount on BG over Purdue on an even line, now the spread is BG -2 with Purdue's change up at QB. Edit- Wrong thread, sorry.

Thanks for keeping this going. I just had a kid so I have pretty much zero free time this year. I'll take your bet for passing yards. Go ahead and donate to your animal charity too if you lose (can't say no to that face).
