UM has released more Northwestern tickets
Just an update on MGoBlue ticket sales: after previously being down to only scattered single tickets, Michigan has re-released a few hundred new tickets located throughout the stadium for Homecoming on October 10th vs. Northwestern, a team currently ranked in the top 20.
These tickets are competitively priced with Stubhub; in many cases, as of now MGoBlue is a cheaper option.
There are 3 areas in the Big House where these tickets have been released:
- Section 14 in the Southeast Corner in rows 20-35 (tickets originally allocated to Northwestern that they weren't able to fill)
- Section 10 in the South Endzone above row 85 (tickets originally allocated to Northwestern that they weren't able to fill)
- Sections 33 and 34 in the North Endzone; the largest clump of these are between rows 79 and 92. However, in Section 34 there are also about 40 tickets posted lower down between rows 11 and 26. (re-released for unclear reasons).
UPDATE: More tickets have been released in the lower part of Section 34 in the prime rows of 25-40, as well as scattered sideline seats (much better deals than stubhub)
Besides those sections (and one random row in the lower part of Section 12) the rest of the stadium is still essentially sold out. I imagine these remaining seats will sell down to single tickets relatively soon as well.
Many (around 1,000) tickets remain for the BYU game as well (in Sections 32-34), but the MSU, OSU and Rutgers games are sold out (Rutgers down to single tickets).
Go Blue!!!

seats aren't all that great, but you can get into the game this week for $55 a ticket, which isn't bad.

That's true, but for Northwestern they are the same or cheaper from MGoBlue.
There are like 3 sets of tickets available for cheaper on Stubhub, but I think two of them are in row 96.
The median Stubhub price is much higher than MGoBlue for Northwestern.
Unfortunately, the BYU game looks to be the only game this season where we will be under capacity (unless they can give the remaining 1,000 away), which is strange because it's a top 25 team in September (nicer weather). But 6/7 over 108,000 is nothing to complain about. BYU will still probably be close to 107,000 anyways.

BYU tickets will probably be available for $20 in the parking lots on game day.

I really hope some people buy more tickets from U of M (the extra money spent is basically a donation to the University, the team, and HARBAUGH), but that's understandably not feasible for everyone.
It's a shame they priced the BYU single game tickets so high to begin with. $80 for a row 96 endzone seat is too much for non-marquee games. This is one situation where Brandon may have been correct with the ability to dynamically shift the prices up or down. If U of M could lower their prices to $55/60 these would sell out.
