tOSU - Wisconsin Box Score

Submitted by sammylittle on

Did anyone see this game.  I just checked the box score to see if it was as close as advertised.  This is what I found:  time of possession about 1 minute apart, rushing yards 183-179, passing yards 147-144, both teams completed 13 passes, turnovers 2-2, total yards 327-326, etc.  http://sports.aol.com/ncaafb-game/20081004/ohio_state-buckeyes-vs-wisconsin-badgers/200810040036?type=recap

Looks like a very evenly played game.  What does this mean for the rest of the big ten?

2. Ohio State's offense alternates between shaky and serviceable

3. The defense has yet to replace Vernon Gholston and it shows. Vernon Gholston by virtue of being there, demanded double and triple-teams (except against Michigan, who apparently thought it was a good idea to leave poor Steve Schilling out on an island against him). This year, we don't have that guy, or really any guy, that the defense needs to worry about blocking in the entire front seven.

4. Penn State is a very winnable win in Columbus away from national title consideration. And we thought there fans were unbearable when they sucked.

I don't know that it means a whole lot.  Wisky, as it turns out, just isn't that good.  I think that they are looking at 2 more losses at least.

I watched the whole game, and thought Wisconsin gave away another one.  The first being against UM.  tOSU is good but not great on D.  Their DL was avg.  Wisconsin was the more physical team on both sides of the ball.  Aside from a couple Beanie runs and some TP improvizations, the O was not that good.
