Man, Caden Kolesar is ripped.
Hope he continues to make plays on special teams this fall. Maybe we'll see him a little bit on defense, too.
And, today's video is a win in The Game in the 'Shoe a year after a marquee win over Ohio State in Ann Arbor.
Hmm...
Enjoy — thanks WH!
Time for history to repeat itself.
Hell yea
There have been some pretty good DBs wearing #35, with Earnest Shazor, Thom Darden, and 2-sport stud Donnie Dufek terrorizing receivers crossing the middle. Donnie brought modern (at least more modern) weight training to the Hockey locker room. Legend has it that when he first showed up, the only weights Dan Farrell had the team using was an iron bar stuck in a wad of cement. Donnie showed them what a properly weight trained athlete could do. *
* - Please note I didn't get this story firsthand from Donnie, whom I only know in a peripheral sense, but read it is a book somewhere, maybe John U. Bacon's "Blue Ice" history of the team (a good read, BTW)
our weight set up for hockey in the early '80's was still pretty pathetic. we would go to the CCRB many times. i can't imagine what it was before dufek got there.
This is why you should just skip the weights entirely and just have a bear. It worked for Khabib Nurmagomedov, so it has to work for you!
Danny Farrell was in his first year as Head Coach during Donnie's freshman year, so whatever they had was left over from Al Renfrew's tenure. I'm pretty sure Al was about as old school as they get, including the quaint notion that weight training was bad for hockey players. Can't let them get muscle-bound, eh?
we have to wait 10 more days for Earnest Shazor. He was a #25, but a damn good one!
Just five more weeks!
