SIAP - Poggi to Pats
This is several days old, but a search turned up no prior postings:
The Patriots signed rookie FB Henry Poggi (Michigan) on Wednesday, filling the void when rookie FB/TE Shane Wimann was waived/injured earlier in the week. The 6-foot-4, 257-pound Poggi was originally signed by the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in May, and was released by Oakland in June. During his college career, he appeared in 44 games with 17 starts — four at tight end and 13 at fullback. Poggi will wear No. 48 with the Patriots, and joins Pro Bowler James Develin at the position.

Anyone else think that OP meant Biff for a coaching role since nobody wants to play his team in high school?
This is exactly what I thought
I second that motion.

Must have missed that story, though it surely came up on the board in the past. Awesome dude to support the school; kind of unfair to build a powerhouse that way but also lame for opponents to forfeit games.
This made me curious about ol' Hammering Panda, and a quick interwebs search found this, just 3 hours old:
Hill (shoulder) was waived/injured by the Seahawks on Monday.
At fullback, it was always going to be an uphill climb for Hill to make the Seahawks' final roster. He'll now revert to the team's injured reserve once he clears waivers.
Here's hoping for a quick bounce back and successful career/life for him.

I find it difficult to think Hill won't find a home somewhere or at least on a practice squad
Said it before and I’ll say it again now... Hill has made choices That not a single person on this blog would support. If you knew I’m certain you would not be rooting for him.
Well if he's going to NE he will instantly become a stud....

I think Patriots and Poggi will be a perfect fit

Congrats to Mr. Poggi. Got a look in Oakland and happy to see the Patriots bringing him in. He will be battling for a spot on the practice squad and can't hurt to have another audition on tape if it doesn't work out.
