Questions for Those Going to the Game Today

Submitted by profitgoblue on

Questions for those of you lucky enough to be attending the game this afternoon:

1.  Where are you all sitting?

2.  What are your pre-game plans?  Are any of you getting together at a particular location in Uptown Charlotte?

sitting in 228, but looking to migrate to the student section.   don't have pregame plans, but probably going to postgame drinks at Wild Wings Cafe.

I'll be just over from you.  Ushers are usually pretty strict at (formerly) Bobcats Arena.  But my experiences there are limited to concerts.  Haven't been to a basketball game there.  It may be different but I doubt it.

If I can get my two little ones to the student section I will.  I'm trying to instill in them a desire for the college life so they'll go there and STAY there unlike some of the kids of my friends...

the Usher's are pretty much pricks when it comes to moving down.  If you're staying for the second game or going with any kids (preferably younger) have them stand by the doorsand ask the people leaving for their stubs.  Would be a cool experience to see Duke up close... especially if Hampton makes things interesting for awhile.

we did was send my buddy's 12 and 9 year old brothers to the front lobby area of the United Center.  Technically you aren't out until you leave the building and the older folk were happy to pass their stubs over to a cute kid.  Especially those who had rooted for the winning team.

Boss scheduled an all-rep meeting (via web) at 1 pm today; found out about it last week, lobbied for change on Monday but failed miserably.  I mightn't have gone anyway as the 200 section of the "cablebox" (Time Warner Cable Arena) is truly nosebleed territory.  I've got the DVR set so I'll be watching late this evening, unless the wife allows me an earlier viewing.  Geeze, I gotta get my pants back.

The 200 seconds are definitely not nosebleeds.  I'm not sure how many games you've attended there but I've sat all over the arena and there are some outstanding seats in the 200 sections, especially low at the mid-court area.

At the risk of coming off as an a--, if you'd pass up tickets to an NCAA Tournament game in which Michigan is playing simply because you'd be sitting in the 200 section I'd have to question the level of your fanhood . . .

In Indy last week we were top row nose bleed seats for the UM game against OSU, but between games moved down to lower level.

We just walked past the usher, nodding politely, and down to 4 seats 10 rows from court.

While there, the ushers, pulled 3 groups(6kids) that had tried to sneak seats...Harshly.

For those Wolverine fans visiting Charlotte for the game, the place to head after the game is Selwyn Pub (a short cab ride from downtown).  Since the weather is perfect and Carolina is playing later in the day, Selwyn Pub will be hopping.
