quarterbacks (film study?)

Submitted by dundee on
Brian,TomVH and others. does anyone know how much(if any) time the quarterbacks are spending in the film room learning how to read defenses? i keep hearing about all the work in the weight room they are doing, how much time they spend tossing the rock with Wrs on their own, but never hear if they are studying film. although added size is better and wanted if they still have trouble reading the defense the added size doesn't help much. thanks in advance for any helpful insight.

So I guess since I do not want a minute-by-minute break down of the activities of the qb's for every day of spring practice I must want stupid qb's that can't read a defense and get sacked and throw picks. Yes, good argument you've formed there. I hate to always be the 'trust the coaches' guy on the board, but wtf do you need to know with how many minutes the players are spending in the film room? Is 30 minutes a day enough? Is 60 minutes a day enough? Hell, I have no idea what is enough or normal...and guess what, I don't freak out about it. Since Rich Rod has done a pretty good job developing qb's in the past, you are worried that he forget how to run a film study session?

don't remember asking for a minute by minute break down. there have been numerous threads talking about them being "gym rats" work-out warriors" etc. i have not heard about film study so i asked. as for your question i do not know what is normal either but i do know i do want some time spent there.

not really cuz just because you've now taken your meds and seemed to have calmed a bit, you're just making shit up. which is why in the post i asked for helpful insight. hoping to keep posts that have nothing to do with the topic to a minimum but i guess i asked for too much from the mgocommunity. my mistake, carry on all.

So if magnus would have told you the 26.3 minutes each day BS, you would have believed him since you have nothing to compare it to? Does how much time the players are in the film room even need to be discussed? Asking how much time (player) is spending on (activity) on the internet is kinda creepy to me.

probably wouldn't have believed him either, although i might if he answered straight the first time and seemed credible. as for creepy. what i think is creepy is a guy spending time answering posts with whatever stupid shit comes out of his mouth and believes he is being either funny and cute.

The poor bastard has been soul dong punched so many times these last two years, its hard for him to deal with people. Plus he's in Wyoming, They just got the internet there so he's not quite sure how to interact with fellow posters.

dude, it sucks that you are at work today and not enjoying the drinking festivities, but shut the fuck up, the guy asked a simple question, it wasn't directed towards you, and the person who can answer it is going to be able to give him a simple answer. I assume all he wants is confirmation that the QBs are hitting the tape as much as the weights, which they should be.

I thought it was a good question myself. I would also like to know if the qb's have been spending some time breaking down film. Good question Dundee.

I bet they just spend all their time in the gym and 7 on 7's because they're probably so dumb they don't realize that studying film will help them; the coaches probably don't push it either.

And staff interns are definitely not around when the QBs do watch film. Nope, they can't even hand popcorn in the door. So nobody knows anymore, because no one can be there to see or keep track of voluntary film watching time.

I know they have all seen Avatar and 2 of 3 gave it 2 thumbs up. D-Rob was the odd man out as he was quoted saying, “the film moved to 'slow' for me” ***Emoticon snicker***
