premature thought but...

A crazy thought just crossed through my head, is there any chance we could win a B10 championship in basketball this year? State (supposedly the #1 B10 team) was crushed my UNC, and Purdue (the #2 team) lost to duke by a point more than we did the first time, and we obviously just beat duke the 2nd time. Maybe 1st in conference is a stretch, but is top 3 a real possibility?

Playing comparison is somewhat of a crazy game but... MSU played Maryland at home and lost by 18 UofM played Maryland on the road and lost by 5 Also...MSU played UNC at home and lost by 35 Purdue played Duke at home and lost by 16 Michigan played Duke at home and won by 8 Therefore Michigan > MSU and Purdue but...we all know how crazy college basketball is and thats why they settle it on the court. I'm just hoping to finish at .500 or above in the BigTen.

Maryland played State in Orlando, not in EL. That being said, Maryland dominated Sparty, and from everything I've read (as I was in the 99.9% without ESPNU) Maryland did not dominate Michigan. So I'm gonna go ahead and give the nod to Michigan. I hate Izzo.

The Terps came out of the locker room with about a 16-3 run. UM actually came back and grabbed the lead a couple times. From there, the game was a lot like today's game, with Maryland playing our role of pulling away late. We hit a couple threes at the end to bring it back to five. Very even game.

Hard to say just yet, but if we can just finish in the top 5 (which seems very possible) we'll be in the tourney for sure. And if there are no early departures, next year we could be really, really good.

I think we've got to hope for a top 5 finish in the Big Ten. Finish strong in the non-conference, rack up 9 or 10 wins in conference play, and with the resume builders we can make the tourney. As far as the conference, though, State will get better, Purdue is good, Ohio State has shown some flashes early on, Wisconsin is always tough, Illinois seems much improved, Minnesota is gonna be tough with Tubby.. The Big 10 is shaping up to be a lot better than we all imagined before the season. Indiana is the only real dud.
