OT- When did McCosky start doing Wings coverage

So I 'm glancing through the Detnews preview of the Wings, and noticed that Chris McCosky is now doing in depth write-ups of the Wings? Is this a special assignment for him to cover the Sweden trip, or did McCosky get taken off the Pistons beat? I personally couldn't stand McCosky's Piston coverage b/c he was one of these "whatever Joe D or Flip told me" kind of guys and whenever he was on a radio show and someone presented a contrary point, he usually was quick to do the "you don't know what you're talking about" routine. This probably won't change my habits much (I still rely on Ansar Khan's coverage through mlive.com), but just wondering if I'll have to endure McCosky's writing this Wings season...

It looks like this is a new assignment for McCosky. Personally, I thought he was a good writer and covered the Pistons well. That said, hockey is a different beast and I will wait and see if he gets it.
