OT: Toledo Walleye

Submitted by UMxWolverines on
After any season is over, whether it be baseball, football, hockey, or basketball, I always say these words out loud: "Can't wait for next year". I can't wait for football season, but also hockey season, first for the wings to get some revenge, but also cuz the new Toledo hockey team starts. Anyone else live around there and are you gonna go watch em?

Toledo Walleye? WTF? Are they the club team? are they UHL team? What the hell are they? Either way they will suck I am sure. Club hockey is pathetic on every level and UHL is just the UHL.

when i was a kid, my dad would take me to the Goaldiggers games. if the fights didnt bloody up the ice too bad, they would let kids skate for free afterwards. Im interested in the new diggs they have this year. how did that turn out?

Well done Toledo. I spent my childhood walking up to Mud Hen games at the old Ned Skeldon Stadium in Maumee. Couldn't wait to move away for college and beyond but glad to see they are investing in top-notch facilities for their sport teams.

Do we know if the Walleye are affiliating with the Wings? I know that's been the plan, but with the K-Wings also joining the ECHL there may be some competition.

I live in Temperance, which is basically a Toledo suburb, and I am definitely gonna get down for that. Toledo Walleye is a little misleading, since that area of water is known mostly for its perch, not walleye, but still good. Plus the old arena was SO terrible. Right there with 5/3rd Field, pluss all the new shops and food, gonna be awesome.
