OT: Parking for Real Madrid-Chelsea at Big House?
I'll be travelling to the Big House for the first time in my life in the month of July -- and couldn't be happier about it -- to take in the Real Madrid-Chelsea match.
Does anyone have any details about parking for the game? Obviously, there will be no golf course parking in the middle of the summer. I am wondering, which lots are going to be open? Would you advise a pre-pay?
For those who are also going to the game, where do you plan on parking?
Thanks very much. I am really looking forward to this.
Big issue last year was that the I-94 / Ann Arbor Saline Road Exit was shut down due to construction. Should be much better this year.
$40 for my son's college savings plan (U of M or bust) gets you a spot 500 feet from the Big House. I have about 6 or 7 spots left for non-super-sized vehicles. Its the house with the drive-thru garage - you can't miss it. FIrst come, first served.
I own the maize & blue house at 320 W Stadium where I sell season pass parkign spots for football and basketball. 3rd closest house to SW gate on Stadium. if you wanted to park with us, shoot me an email at [email protected]
$40 all easy in and easy out (not a tailgate venue).
Flying in from Denver for the festivities. Went to Chelsea v Inter in Indy back in 2013? Made it over to Stamford Bridge in 2014. Few of my pals from London are coming in for match as well.
Couple questions for folks familiar with Ann Arbor and Detroit..
1. Where should we drink pre-match? Looking for a place where the beer flows like water and has an outdoor patio/beer garden.
2. Where should we drink during the match? I assume their serving booze but is there a bar or hangout in the stadium?
3. Where should we eat after the match? Looking for something that will sop up the alcohol and clog the arteries.
4. Where should we party that night? I'm guessing we'll head into Detroit for the night. I know the casinos are an attraction, but we want bars and strip clubs. I know Windsor is right there, but if we don't wanna cross the border, what's the spot?
Hope this post isn't aggravating, just need some old heads advice to make this weekend bender as epic as possible.

1. Ashleys
2. Not sure but I've never been to any event at Michigan Stadium where alcohol has been served.
3. Bowling Alley has shit food, is close and is cheap.
4. Cheetah's in Windsor.

Ashley's is terrific and has an amazing beer selection, but from your description (drinking lots of beer outdoors) I'd go to Dominick's. More space. Pitchers (or at least giant mason jars) of various Bells beers. Outside.

I usually just go around the streets to the west of the stadium. There are neighborhoods where street parking is free so I always park on the road there then take in the beautiful walk to our tailgate destination.
I think there were some UM amlumini found a parking web site to reserve the parking for event in Ann Arbor, and they expand to other college football town. I forgot the name, is it park'n go?
Otherwise, I will find a free parking on street, either side of stadium has street parking around the neighbourhood. Or If you come down from I94, I would park at south side, you can even park around Bustch's parking lot and walk to the stadum, only less than 10min more walk from Pioneer High parking, you don't pay that damn $60. AA's real estate is going up and it may drive the parking fee crazily. People are greedy.
BTW, C Ronaldo is still injured right from the Euro 16 final game? Does he travel with the team?
$60 at Pioneer? That's ridiculous!
Guess I'll be parking cars in my yard on Saturday.

Lots of neighborhood parking east of State Street, which doesn't require a residential permit unless that's changed since I lived on Arbor St eons ago. If you get there early enough it shouldn't be too much of a problem to find parking with the lighter summertime student traffic.
Be prepared to pay more than for a football game. The last time they played prices for everything was jacked up significantly.
And yeah. That's why you shouldn't EVER care about a weather forecast any more than ONE day in advance (and often, not even then).
Looks like some rain/storms for Ann Arbor later today (meaning, of course, that the UMGC might now look a tad dicey for parking, as it may be closed), and there is a 50% chance of rain/storms for tomorrow.
Here's hoping for the best.
