OT: "New" season 4 remix of Arrested Development on Netflix

and posted a link from CNET(???), but it's about arrested development, so you get a pass. ;) I'm just so not into cuatro this year....

I’ve made a huge mistake...

is it good? Or just a tiny huge mistake?

It’s entertaining, but roughly the same as rewatching the season in terms of how funny it feels. There are clearly some jokes that don’t work as well in this format (like Lindsay wacking Tobias on the airplane repeatedly isn’t as funny since we immediately see that it’s Tobias) but the plot is so much easier to follow that I’ve picked up on some jokes more easily as a result. It also gets rid of the problem that some episodes in the original format were slower since their key character couldn’t hold together an episode as well. If someone had never seen season 4, I’d probably encourage them to watch the original format first, but I think I like the new one better for rewatching. And unrelated to that, but just a line that’s got me disproportionately laughing today, after Buster learns that Lucille 2 is having juice at 2 in the afternoon, Lucille 2: “Honey, it's 8 a.m. somewhere.”

And that is why you only make one season 4.
