OT, more or less: Why can't I edit most of my posts?

I feel quite stupid posting this, but I checked the board FAQ and there was nothing about it there. SO: I seem to have lost the edit button on all but one or two of my posts. Do posts lock after a certain period of time?

If someone comments on them, then they get locked.

I don't think it needs fixing. It is exactly how I would want board posting to work on my site if I had one.

It'd be cool if there could be an option to "append" additional lines to the end of a post, without being able to change the original text. That would keep people accountable while allowing them to go back and clarify stuff in their original message. Too bad I don't know of any board that has such an option to explain better.
