OSU - Pryor's Passing Skills

Submitted by MinorforPresident on
He has looked pretty meh tonight throwing the ball. Boeckman has actually looked good on some throws and I don't see why they haven't played him more to stretch the field.

i definitely feel boeckman should be in the game. pryor has a lot to learn before he is a good quarterback. it seems that he is still just trying to beat people off his athleticism. ohio state lives off of their big play ability. they can't just depend on the run, i really think they need boeckman in their to hit their receivers deep. they have talent. they need help getting the ball there.

He's a fantastic athlete but his passing prowess just isn't there. He has an awkward delivery and his passes are "wounded ducks" a lot of the time. Texas has a couple of freshmen in the secondary and OSU has some experienced receivers so I would think they would want to exploit that. I think had they been playing Boeckman more they would be winning this game right now.

No ability to make his progression, or make decent passes down the field. He's sushi raw I'd admit. But he looks like a NFL Wr Remember that VY had 4 years to become a serviceable QB, I believe he redshirted. OSU looks like a capable offense with Boeckman, not so much witH Pryor. He'll manage to kill us twice more at least.

the get out of bounds/save myself move down. At least he thinks OSU needs his arm... He bailed on a few first downs and even the fox announcers called him out for it. What is up with Fox/Bud showing cases of bud light for about 10 second spots? I really wanted to drink a case immediately so maybe it works.

and a gamebreaker. But, his passing is beyond terrible at this point in his career. His passing game is beyond raw, personally I think he regressed during his month off. Man did he look good at wideout though, he has an NFL future there (IMO, of course.)

Pryor doesn't seem to have good mechanics nor is he willing to sacrifice for the extra yard. There were a few plays where he could have had 5 more yards if he was willing to take a shove out of bounds or gain an extra yard by tip toeing the line a little more and fall out of bounds instead of dancing out. His arm looks weak and has to force moonballs into double coverage. I for one am glad we failed to get this kid.
