Old Redford 26 Chandler Park 20 (2OT) Csont'e York
First... I'm not a scout.
I went out to Harper Woods tonight to get my first look at Csont'e York. The game ended 14-14 after regulation and each team scored a TD in the first OT and then CP went 0-4 on their second try (York wasn't targeted once!) and Old Redford took their first play to the house for the win.
My thoughts on York...
He is very long but moves well for his size. He doesn't seem to waste any energy while running. I see taller kids who look like they really have to concentrate on running but not Csont'e. He is smooth. He does need to add some muscle to his frame which he can and I'm sure will do. It was hard to get a real gauge on his route running ability b/c there is not a lot of talent (his level of talent, I don't want to speak bad about any of his teammates) around him. In fact a few times he ran into a teammate during patterns. One thing he does very well is go up for the ball. Ability to high point the ball is impressive and if he got his hands on it tonight he caught it. He returns punts as well but seemed to have a hard time judging the ball in the air. He returned 3 tonight and each time he was picking it up off the ground. One went for 2 yards, another for 0 and I'll post a video of the third. (You'll like it) Csont'e also punts and kicks for CP but I promise he'll never do either ever again once he gets to AA.
Final Stats:
8 Targets
3 Receptions
34 yards
1 TD and 1 2pt cv
Last "note" I promise. A 2015 kid Roger Davis from Old Redford... just remember his name. A legit 6'1'' 190 RB/LB. I was next to his father most of the game and the kid is solid. His dad did admit that grades might be a problem but Roger is working harder now that football might be a legit option.

Sorry, I'm slow at this point in the night, but the TD was from the punt return right? He didn't catch one, and return one...

Gotcha, with such a great class it's hard to stay up on all of these guys. Thanks for the update.
