The real surprise is that he doesn't even play safety anymore! The kid is a great athlete but he hasn't put it together quiet yet.. Still, kid could be good down the line.
He was rated very highly as a freshman in last year's version, IIRC. Without any playing time to re-evaluate him on, I guess they decided to keep him awesome. Hopefully he will be in real life, too.
I bet he was overrated to start with and they figured he would be a couple points better this year
Actually.. A lot of the defense is overrated. So it's not just Smith.

Brandon Smith was being hyped up even before this season as a big hittin' safety who had a bright season ahead of him, but then we found out he was too slow so he had to move to LB
coverage skills which were limited not his speed.
For those of you who have the game, have they finally put in a formation subs option? Or after I switch Denard after the first year to the "Harvinator" position, will I have to go to the depth chart every time I want to switch from slot to outside reciever to running back to cornerback to blah blah blah.......?
They've always had that option..

I must have been mistaken. I have a few of the older games and I always found formation subs under the rosters menu in-game.
Yeah, I thought they had them in some of the older games, but they inexplicably took them out at some point I guess.
Yeah, I just didn't remember them last year. I do remember them in like 2002-2004. Those were the best games.
I've got the Ps3 version, and you just go right with the toggle joystick on the right and you can change to all kinds of different formational subs. I like running the wildcat with Denard, or Tay... This game's the bomb.
This is what replaced the old, better, menu-style formation subs. But yeah, if you're willing to scroll through some small font with the right joystick and make only one sub at a time (i.e., swap FL/WR or backup QB, but not both), then formation subs still kind of exist.
ps3 you hit the R3 stick left or right and it switches players formations. Package- ????

package- te slot. etc ettc
I don't see Woolfolk in the game either and they are saying he will be a starting safety. The defensive roster is definitely pretty bad on the part of EA. They have Marrell Evans as a starting LB and Smith is a starting safety.
