National Signing Day - Told You So.

As a young professional in my mid twenties who spends too much time on this site, worrying about Michigan Football, and spent way too much time worrying about recruiting....I can say one thing. I sure am glad this thing is over with. I can be a little bit more productive at work now. As for the Dorsey to Michigan statement I made yesterday, this was not a bold "50/50" prediction. I can't name my sources, but I had credible information that Dorsey told a certain someone last night that he was headed to Ann Arbor. Won't say who this certain someone is, but let's just say that he's a better recruiter than Toney Clemons and could probably beat Toney in a foot race as well. Put it this way - I wasn't fazed by the fact that Dorsey supposedly also told USC and FSU that he was going there as well. Mad props to my source who told me this piece of information. It made me feel really, really good. Welcome to Ann Arbor Demar. As for signing day in general - I am very happy with this year's haul and what transpired today. We didn't lose anybody that was verbally committed (Ash, MRob), which was huge. The only "losses", in the loosest use of the term, were Parker and Knight. Those losses were completely mitigated by the Dorsey commitment. Although I would have loved to have two of them, we're forgetting that we have a pretty strong stable of secondary help already in Ann Arbor and on the way. Also, I was happy with some of the commitments to other schools. There were no real big commits that could hurt us, such as Seantrel to OSU. I was hoping that Gholston would go to Alabama, but that was seriously wishful thinking last week when I found out that Gholston got a big Spartan tattoo on his arm (hey, he could be a huge movie buff and fan of 300) I did, however, find it odd that the Michigan Regents couldn't wait 24 hours (or even 12!) to have an "emergency" meeting about the NCAA investigation.....the timing seemed a little fishy to me. I'm not a huge conspiracy theorist either, but it's just too coincidental. But I'll leave that for another day. Anyway, all in all, a good day.
