MSU -4 at Michigan

Submitted by jamiemac on
Early line for the game, per Pinnacle..... MSU -4 at Michigan, O/U 131. Thoughts? I'm inclined to take Michigan. But, I am a homer. A richer one, however, as Michigan is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 times out. I also have a Big 10 Bubble News post at the JCB. Sadly, not much of it centers around Michigan's chances. I'll have a post on tomorrow's game during the afternoon. Anyway, for the night owls, a little early discussion/open thread on the game.

bet enough on State to buy your favorite bottle of booze. If UM wins, you wont mind the small loss. If UM takes the loss you will have your nights drinking paid for. You'll just have to hope UM doesn't lose and cover.

Michigan state is tough not to bet against at -4, but as a michigan fan, I just can't put the money down. If I were unbiased here, id put down a decent amount of money here. Go blue, and if we lose, I hope we cover so I don't feel bad about not making money here.

tough D like they did against UConn and Wisconsin and if they are pumped up (they will be), I can see sending Sparty home for a long bus ride. GO BLUE!

If you bet on them, your bias usually comes into play. If you bet against them, you are cheering for them to lose or at least "manage" the spread. Neither is good for your soul or your pocketbook.

Last time you posted you alerted me to the Purdue line which was going to be moving due to the Manny suspension, I quickly got my bet in before it moved another 3 points online and then watched as we got down 23, turned it off only to find out later Novak decided he could make 3 pointers and I got the double whammy a blowout loss that was unwatchable, but I still lost the bet with a meaningless comeback so I think I'm passing and waiting for the Colts to pummel the Aints. Basketball betting makes football look sane and predictable. Watching the end of a game when neither team cares and you are hoping for fouls or meaningless 3 pointers is maddening.

With any luck there was a frat party on campus at MSU Monday, and the football team took along members of the basketball team with them. Chrisler is our home, not theirs. Be loud and proud. Go Blue!

But that seems like a pretty low spread. State wins, they win by 20+, because Izzo likes running it up against us, to show their dominance. It's either win, or lose big. And considering how badly the team has been playing this year, if I was going to bet it, it'd have to be a sizable wager on State. But I can't put any money on that school... (Unless it's their football team, losing).
