MSM 180
I know it's been said around here that as soon as we start winning again, the bad things will start to fade away and the MSM will write better stories. I knew that it would happen, but have been very surprised with how quickly it's happened.
2 wins into the season and the news is all about how great Tate is, and how scrappy the team is, and how "all that practice is paying off" (ok, so that's at least a reference to something negative, but at least it has a positive spin).
Is anyone else surprised how quickly things seemed to have turned around?

Because winning cures all ills.
That's just the way it is.

The people who hate RR have just gone underground a bit after the start of the season. We will lose games in the B10, and when it happens those folks will burst forth like a ugly, purulent boil, screaming for RR's head on a platter, and this includes media types. And when they surface, you can be sure they will regurgitate all the themes we know and love about family values, shreddergate, the Freep article, dissension on the team, real estate lawsuits, and how RR's tenure has been so "controversial" and how he's on the hot seat.
You can also be sure that more than a few of the "fans" who're currently singing RR's praises because of the ND game would be calling for RR's head if Tate's final pass to Matthews had been off the mark.

I've been kind of expecting the same thing, but I'm still loving the positive attention while it lasts.

the media and many people in general are too quick to deify and too quick to condemn. I was overjoyed with the game Saturday, but it was just a moment. The future is bright, but we aren't national champions (yet).
