He is also Charles Woodson's cousin. I played for Southview in high school and I can tell you that the coaches, especially Mayzes the head coach, is a huge UM fan.

I do remember that game and the unfortunate end to the playoffs (we lost in the state championship by a point), and for some reason I never got Wadsworth out of my head. That is just a cool name, and would make a perfect last name, especially if combined with Larry or Emily as the first name.

I go to the same school and for all we know, Gant could very well be Ohio's top sophomore. From what I remember, he played a bit out of position (for some odd reason, he think he played LB in the first few games.) and was hurt, but he was a pretty big part of our offense and defense. He probably will end up playing S at the next level. His uncle, by marriage, is none other than Charles Woodson himself. But, He had another uncle that coached at OSU and sadly, I think Gant is an OSU lean right now. I know for sure that Tressel himself came to SV and talked with Gant and another prospect, Jimmmy Hall (3 star WR that committed to Northwestern). He'll probably end up as a 4 star prospect and I hope he becomes a great player for which ever school he commits to. (He also has the Kevin Koger/Greg Oden effect going for him)

just down the road from Whitmer's (same school as Koger) Chris Wormley. Wormley grew up a huge Michigan fan, but Tressel is already after him. I assume the relative that coached at OSU is Shawn Simms.

Tony Gant might have some bad blood with Michigan from some issues he had with the school following his broken leg against Wisconsin in 84. He was granted a 6th year and played on the 10-1-1/#2 ranked team in 85, but following graduation, there was problems. That said, I hope he remembers the positive experience he had and what it means to be a Michigan Man.
