Lloyd wins the Duffy award and we get the Harrison commits. All that was theirs is now ours.

the name of that award sucks, but congrats to Carr!
Great honor for a great coach and great man.
Tremendous!
...Bo and Canham as U-M recipients of the award. That's some exclusive company.
All your msu trophies are belong to us.
the national championship in 97, a 122-40 record and 13 bowl appearances in 13 seasons. Not too shabby for a much-maligned former coach.
....and he was 10-3 against Duffy's former team. With 1 of those 3 losses beating a cheat by Spartan Bob.
The name of the award sucks (Duffy was the one who first gave us the "arrogant asses" label in the early 60's) but congrats to Lloyd.
That's awesome dude. You should make a separate post about that. I know the board is focusing on advertisements for video games at the moment but I think your story deserves some attention too.
Yeah I bet he is. I kind of imagine him being like the Dos Equis guy.
...MAgoBLUE. Looking forward to reading this post by JimLahey.
lloyd last week at mott. he was there friday to visit a patient and i came upon him looking a little lost in the hallway. i walked him over the the area he was looking for. i was super excited to get to talk to him. but the entire time he was asking ME questions - how long i'd worked there, where i was from, etc. with the couple words i did manage to get in, i thanked him for coming up, since visits from lloyd or the players lift spirits (of both patients and parents) in ways that we can't. he brushed it off immediately, saying that it's nothing compared to the work that is done by the health care team. i told him it was an honor to meet him - and he said it was an honor to meet me. i'm not a physician, i'm not a high up administrator - i'm a nurse that happened to be in the right place at the right time to walk him over so he could brighten someone's day. and on the way over, he completely made my day as well.
And now your story made my day.
Lloyd's Lasting Lessons...
During my time on the UM solar car team Lloyd sat down with the race crew to give us a pep talk very close to an upcoming race. Very classy guy. Of course, I was the only person on the team who forgot to wear my M polo that day. No, he did not make me run steps at the Big House, but I felt guilty enough that I wanted to anyway.
