Hideous Adidas post season unis on NC St right now
I will admit that on the players it looks like they are all sagging. Maybe that was the look they were going for?
It always comes down to two things.
1) Look over here! Nike makes some bad stuff too!
This is not a reason to stick with Adidas. So you found an example of Nike making something ugly. Congratulations. And so what? Let's look at their overall body of work. Nike is clearly better.
2) But the money!!
This is not a pro-Adidas argument it's a pro money argument.
Firstly, how do we know nike won't offer us a sweet deal comparable to Adidas?
Secondly, as the poster above me pointed out, this is Brandon-esquire decision making. Money isn't everything.
Nike apparel will sell better overall which will mitigate any difference in what they pay the school.
Since Michigan had been with Adidas, I have bought a grand total of ONE piece of apparel, and that because it was on clearance at dunhmas and I needed a spring jacket anyways.
The Adidas stuff sucks so is rather just wear the mike Michigan things I already have.
Apparel sales will go up, recruits like Nike, also something about "leaders and best". Ring a bell? Adidas is mediocre. Not a good association for the school.

Seriously though, performance wise on the court the shoe is lighter and feels better to me than a Nike zoom soldier or the Kobe shoe. I also tried out the Nike hyperdunk last year and it felt boxy. The Adidas crazy quick or the lite are much more comfortable and really even look better. It's all opinion but as far as it goes for me it's not even close. I'll take Adidas any day.

NIke is better based on what?
I keep seeing the argument "Nike is clearly better" but have not seen any concrete reasons why other than "kids like it."
You say that adidas sucks, but also say you only have ever bought one piece of apparel? I'm not saying everything they make is amazing but it's impossible to judge based on one item.
And when we first signed the adidas contract, I would have agreed that Nike does make a superior product. adidas was crap up until about 2 1/2 years ago. But now, adidas has the top performance footwear on the market, hands down.
And like it or not, tournament unis bring exposure to the brand. You're talking about it, and that was the goal. Remember when Nike had all of their schools wearing gray a couple years ago? People on here would have had a meltdown if that happened to us.
There's also something to be said for being a company's flagship school. Given our recent success we'd be a middle tier Nike school at best. I mean look at Miami (YTM). They were the original sponsored school, but they've been down for a few years, Nike treats them like crap and they end up leaving for adidas.
