Hawaii versus Cal Open Thread

Things we know about Hawaii: St.Just is a decent RB, QB is meh, WRs are meh, and defense is ugly. They are turnover prone.

Hawaii's offense looks ahead of their defense but it's hard to tell because Cal is a pretty good offensive team and a bad defensive team.

Hawaii is really aggressive on defense. I expect a lot of draws and screens next week.

Cal is NOT a good team. And they are throttling Hawaii.

Bodes well for M.

Cal's defensive line is just worthless.  

Hawaii is very turnover prone.

Cal is not a good football team. That's all I've learned from this game.

I love Hawaii, both the state and CFB program as a love able underdog. That said, I am looking forward to next Saturday in a way I have not felt in years .. It's like normal anticipation goes to 10 but this year, it goes to 11.

I wish these announcers would shut up about taking Webb out. It's still a 3 possesion game with a ton of time left which is within striking distance even if it's unlikely.

Haven't seen any o/u posted for next week's game, but spread is -41.  Would like to get shutout string started again, so whatever it is when it's posted, I'll take the under.

Hawaii looks like they will improve slighlty from that 3-10 season that they had last year.

I don't get the negative reviews here of Webb, Cal's grad transfer QB.  I thought he did a good job, including play execution and managing the game.  Hawaii's QB is talented, but I don't see him getting nearly as much time to throw against us...he will be running for his life most of the time. Hawaii has some big guys on the OL, but the combination of our DL size and experience in combination with the blitz packages should limit their ability to do much.  I have a feeling this will be a repeat of last year's BYU game.  My biggest concern is St. Juste occassionally getting through the line and then juking our inexperienced LBs for a few big runs.
