Congratulations to DeShawn Sims, the NBA Developmental League's Rookie of the Year.
Former University of Michigan men's basketball standout DeShawn Sims (2007-10) was selected as the NBA Development League's 2010-11 Rookie of the Year on Friday (April 15) based on a vote by the league's coaches.
Sims, who also earned All-NBADL third team and All-NBADL All-Rookie first team, averaged 20.3 points per game, fourth best in the league, in 48 games with the Maine Red Claws. He also pulled down 7.7 rebounds per contest and shot 50.6 percent from the field during the season. Sims scored in double figures in 41 games and registered 13 double-doubles.

Great job by Sims. Hopefully he can get a chance in the show.
Great to see DeShawn doing well. Hope he gets an opportunity in the NBA next season (that is, if there is a season).
Maine Red Claws are the D-league team of the Celtics and Bobcats... I hope Charlotte picks him up.
I hope the Celtics pick him up. Lord knows he's a better option than Big Baby. God I hate BBD.
Regardless, I wish Peedi the best of luck wherever he goes.
Didn't Courtney Sims win this award as well?
Congrats D Sims. I def thought he should have had a shot on someones NBA roster this year....but maybe this will work out the best for him because instead of riding the bench all year he got a lot of mins to prove what he can do...too bad they may not have summer league this year where players like him get to show what they got to make a roster
