College Football Risk - Day 4: New Enemies and New Friends

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on March 26th, 2020 at 11:27 AM

Yesterday was a good day for us! We’re up to 5th place with 7 territories total after capturing the entire state of Illinois and most of Indiana. We share a border with the state of Ohio on the eastern front and now with Nebraska on the west. The good news is that we have formed a non-aggression pact with Wisconsin to ease some tension in our region. It’s very important that if you are playing do not attack Wisconsin owned territories, including the ones in Michigan. This should help us focus or efforts on the other enemies in our region.

A brief description of how the game works is below for those that aren’t familiar as well as the current map. For those that are familiar, we strongly encourage the use of the assignment system on Michigancfbrisk.com.

What is College Football Risk?

College Football Risk is a continuation of a popular CFB Risk game run by r/CFB in the Spring and Summer of 2018. It is an MMO-style game where college football fanbases compete for control of a fictionalized map of the United States. The goal is to control as much territory as possible for ultimate domination of the map.

How Does the Game Work?

On turn 1, each team starts with their home territory. It is up to each team to recruit players and coordinate moves. You can choose to defend any territory that your team currently holds or attack any adjacent territory. A "roll" happens each evening at 11 PM EST to calculate which teams have won which territories that turn based on the moves that were made by individual players. The ultimate goal is to conquer as much of the map as possible for your team. There are a number of different ways to do this, such as through recruiting players in sheer numbers or forming alliances with other teams.

Steps To Play Every Day:

Note: Please do not discuss orders publicly from the website. If you have a question or comment about orders. Please privately DM a mod either in the discord or on reddit. We don't want opponents snooping on this site figuring out what territories we are/aren't attacking.

Surprising to me that we aren't seeing more participation.  Our numbers are dropping off every day.  What else do people have to do while stuck inside?  It takes like 4 clicks and 20 seconds.  C'mon people!

I didn't get to really participate in the first risk, so I've been in on this one from the start. I would really like to see Mgoblog rally around Michigan to put us over the top.

Honestly, even though this is a virtual game, wouldn't it be nice to beat Ohio State? They have 31 more players than we do, this is something we can control. If we give it the MGO bump, we can be dominating this game in a matter of days.
