On a mid range shot no less. This game was weird as hell but hopefully it propels Matthews going forward.

There was no way.
They took 5 years to review and no matter what angle, Matthews got the ball out of his hands in time. Maybe it's good they focused so much attention on the decimal place of seconds as it eliminated any possible controversy whatsoever.

Honestly, I think our FT shooting has improved. Both Simpson and Matthews look more comfortable, and Teske's stroke looks smoother too.
Poole's missing 2 was pretty shocking. Just shows he's still a kid - that shouldn't happen, and probably won't going forward.

I'm still scratching my head and looking at the box score, trying to figure out how we won that one. Never thought we'd shoot that poorly and still win a conference game. On to the next one...

Defense. During our big run, we completely shut them down. Teske and Matthews, and even Iggy were really protecting the basket, and we scooped up all the loose balls.
That kind of defense and hustle will win a lot of games, even when the O isn't clicking.

And for the (little) scoring that did occur, Teske kept them in it in the first half. Iggy and Z provided the scoring punch during the run (but were otherwise horrible). Then things shut down again. Just a weird game. 3-22 from three, most of them easy, open shots. And then Jordan Poole misses two FTs in crunch time? He's not the guy you expect to hurt the team at the FT line.
Shrug and move on.

This was my first ever Michigan basketball game! Im not around AA very often but happened to be at the VA tonight and made my way down to catch a buzzer beating victory!

I like our team ,but their will be more losses , they , as Johns other teams , seem to have many off nights shooting , they do not have a hot shooter ready to come in and pick it up
