Bracket seedings--luck of the draw?
Interesting pair of articles in Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight blog exploring mismatch of a team's strenght and its seeding in the NCAA BB Tournament. What a stupid "study". Yeah lets look at how a 5 seed would do from each spot. No shit a 5 seed team would have a better chance against a 7 and 2 then a 9 and 1. They should beat the 7 anyway and then the 2 is easier than the 1. The thing that is missing is that a true 10 seed would have a tougher time against the 7 than an 8 should against a 9.
I guess what I am saying is why wouldnt they look at the % of each spot with the power rating of the teams at each seed?
