Big Ten Tournament Ticket Questions

Submitted by da3mite on

Hey MGoBoard...help out a Big Ten Tournament Amateur!

A few friends and I are considering a trip to Indy for the upcoming Big Ten Tourny. Unfortunately, we would only be able to make the semifinals on Saturday (March 15) and possibly the finals on Sunday.

If we were to buy tickets on Stubhub for the semifinals and finals, **putting on my best superstitious gear before saying this** and Michigan were to lose on Friday, do you think we would be able to resell the semifinal and finals tickets on Stubhub for a similar value to our original purchase? Or would we all be taking a financial hit?

Also, does anyone know of any reasonably cheap hotels near Bankers Life Fieldhouse? Are there any cheap sections in the arena that we should definitely avoid?

Thanks!

Ticket prices will only decrease as fans holding tickets for teams that lose want to get rid of their tickets.  If you aren't making a decision to go until Saturday, wait until you know late Friday or early Saturday.  There is no need to buy tickets now.  The hotel and other arrangements should be the biggest concern.  Go Blue!

If you're looking for a hotel on the cheap, I'd look in Muncie or Anderson. Both are less than an hour from downtown right off 69. The obvious downside would be that you'd have to pay for parking downtown rather than walking or taking a cab.

Bankers life is a beautiful establishment, and there aren't any bad seats really. Still I'd avoid being behind the basket. The corners are still good seats.

Best hotel in Indy in my opinion is the Alexander. Brand new and right next to the stadium. Not "cheap" but the brunch buffet is ridiculous (lobster omlets are an option lol) and they usually give free vouchers with a night's stay.

If you're looking for the cheapest, but decent hotel within the city I'd recommend

I've stayed there before anit it was "fine"

If you do stay at the Alexander the bar I own is across the street - swing over and say hi :) http://www.handlebarindy.com
