Big Ten Spring Practice/Game Dates
A few days ago in this thread there was enough good information to conclude that Michigan's Sping Game would be held 16 April. Now, in his ESPN Big Ten Blog, Adam Rittenberg reveals the dates for spring practice and spring games for all of the Big Ten teams.
For Michigan, spring practice will begin 19 March and the Sping Game is confirmed as 16 April. Maybe we can change the "There Are..." countdown from the Spring Game to spring practice since it's a closer date.
The first team to start spring practice is Purdue (01 March) and the last is OSU (31 March).
Half of the Big Ten is playing its Spring Game on 16 April. Joining Michigan are Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern and Penn State.

I'm so excited to get our first live look at how everybody fits in the new offense and to see how (hopefully) improved the D is under Mattison.

This spring game is going to be very interesteting, i'm looking forward to seeing how the offense and defense look. (and hoping we can se some MADE field goals!)

If you are talking about Matt Wile he will not be playing in the spring game. But, yes hopefully Gibbons and Broekhuizen can make some.

I'm not talking about any idividuals, I just wanna see some good fieldgoals. I didn't like how if we got to the opponents 30, and had a 4th down we would go for it because a fg was not an option. If we can just get that fixed, we'll have more wins. We left too many points on the board last year.

I think we left too many points on the field. If we got them to the board, we would have been in good shape.

When was the last time Michigan played a real scrimmage/game at the spring game? I definitely remember them, but at some point Lloyd Carr changed the format to a simplified practice with ocassional controlled scrimmaging.
Don't most other major programs run actual spring games? With big crowds even?

attendance like at spring games?
February 8th, 2011 at 9:16 PM ^
Usually between 10 and 30K. We've gotten up near 50 recently, I believe. Rod was hoping we could break the attendance record for a spring game, which is something like 80K, but then he NEVER HELD AN ACTUAL SPRING GAME. Ugh.

What you don't like random scoring that no one in the crowd understands?
