Finally got a chance to shine and fill the leadership vacuum when we really needed him.  All the best to him in his next stop.  Time for him to be a star.

If the drift of Twitter is any indication, the possibility of Max returning as a walk-on is definitely not precluded, although the feeling I get is that it isn't on top of the list when it comes to likely things to occur. It would be great to have him as a leader and backup all the same though, but wherever he goes, he has his degree and will always be a part of some great teams in the program's history. Good luck to him in whatever he decides.

To clarify my post above (cannot edit on mobile) I am sure this would be possible if he had come to UM as a walkon and earned a scholly years when one was open -- ala the Glasgows in FB -- but not in this case as he was brought in as a 4-yr scholarship player.

he really became a big plus to the MBB team this past season.

Holding out hope there really is a way he can and will return as a walk-on, but if that doesn't happen, best of luck, Mr. Bielfeldt!

I am hoping as well he would be willing to come back as a walk-on.    He is a very well spoken indivudial that worked hard and made himself a solid Big Ten player.

Contributed a lot to this team and would be an awesome asset going forward.
