Barwisizing the fanbase

Submitted by Placentasaurus on

You don't really enjoy winning unless you already know the feeling of losing. Its clear that Rich Rodriguez came here and saw a fanbase filled w/ arrogant yet highly fair weather fans. These fans expect so much of a bunch of 18 year olds, but won't even stand up and cheer when the game is on the line. He asked Barwis what to do about this problem and Barwis came up w/ the only plan that he knows. you tear them down and then you build them back up, and if they lack the dedication and the discipline, then you show them the door. We are going through this transition as a fanbase, and its clear that many fans simply are not up to the task, and its time to go the way of Justin Boren. The rest of us are going to continue to cheer on this team as they develop. The crazy thing is, that I already crave each win more than I ever have in years past even if we only get a couple. And in the years ahead as we continue to improve and win more games, I will always remember this season, and the "conditioning" that we all have undertaken.

For those people who are Michigan fans simply because we are always good, then maybe you should jump on a different bandwagon, like USC or Alabama might be good choices.  Realistically, teams go through these phases, all the great programs have.  Luckily, Michigan hasn't had to do that since most of us have been fans. Take a look at the teams you think are at the top of college football right now, and I'll show you a year recently when they've sucked.  So deal with it.

We are 6 games into one season with a brand new everything, and it's going to be exciting.  Maybe not next week, but soon. Don't give up on the team, or the coach, cheer them on no matter who they play.  There is a lot of amazing things going on in our football program, remember this.  It's darkest just before dawn.

we expect a lot every year because we are the best college football team in the history of college football...stuff like this comes with being a michigan fan...we have to stick it out, and to those who think this is awful and refuse to come to games where they are playing so bad, dont show ur faces when they are ranked number one and shit all over osu in the final game of the season on the way to an undefeated national champioship...we can be dissappointed, but we gotta be there thru the hard years, like this year...this is michigan football
