iowa beat indiana yesterday, so this one is for sole possession of first place.  here’s hoping leigh’s brown is back, but NPOY finalist ashley owusu has been out for maryland.  ladies are coming off two road losses but are undefeated at home…should be a good one, especially if we can fill the seats.  maize rage, anyone?

So we have the men playing at 1, and the womens at 3?  Sounds like an afternoon in which I'll get nothing done around the house.  Better start early, then!  Would love to see the women playing in front of a sellout crowd - if I were in Ann Arbor, I'd go.

I’ll be there! I keep evangelizing that women’s basketball is the best value in Michigan sports. Great team, cheap tickets, and free parking. Looking forward to a full lower bowl and watching Michigan retake first place on their quest to win their first-ever B1G championship. Go Blue!

If anyone had told you that the Women's basketball team would be higher ranked than the men's, you'd probably think that person was on meth and should be committed. What a great thing Coach Barnes has built. Beat Maryland, win the B1G ten, and shock the world by winning the Women's NC.

We'll be there, and we're recruiting and bringing additional friendlies with us!!

Top ten team, absurdly low admission cost, free parking, with hot dogs and pop at the game or great food all around Ann Arbor before/after--season tickets to watch, support and cheer the growth of Coach KBA's program and the gritty leadership of these young women as representatives of the university is the best value and opportunity too many in the community (and likely on this blog) are missing out on IMHO.

Be well everyone, and GO BLUE!!! 〽️

Some of the middle schools my kid plays hoops against charge a $2 admission.
So, we are going today and I will be paying less than what I would pay for a middle school game. That’s crazy.

Go support!!

On the men's side, Michigan State and osu both lost yesterday, and we won on hockey over the buckgoons! After all that shit, sharty is a half game up on us in conference.

Let's get 2 more wins today!!

The MGoGirlfriend and I are going, and neither of us have been to game at Crisler, so we're really looking forward to it.

Of course, I had to promise not to scream that same things in person that I do at the TV. (My comments during UM sporting events are not exactly G-rated.)

Edit: Had a great time. Crisler seems like a really nice place to watch a game (although I've never been to another college arena except Jenison Field House back in the 70's, so I don't really have a basis of comparison.) Good sized crowd, and lots of people brought their kids, so it was a real family atmosphere. And the women fought back from a first half deficit, tied it at the half, and put the hammer down in the second half for a comfortable win. We cheered every bucket, sang "The Victors" more times than we could count, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The only issue was color. The MGoGirlfriend bought a Naz Hillmon t-shirt, while I had on an old sweatshirt that had faded to pastel yellow over the years. So while she looked properly like Maize Rage, I looked more like Canary Grouchiness.
