# 9 Michigan vs. Concordia mens baketball open thread

LeVert so active on both sides of the ball, looks much more comfortable and confident than before.
October 29th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
so true. That was a little his pattern last year as well - against better competition he had a fairly difficult time but against weaker competition he really looked good (more so than others).
However, he looks incredible on BOTH sides of the floor. He will be a leader on defense for sure - we've heard the talk but this is the first time I've seen it so clearly. That boy is coming into his own.
Oh yeah, and Stauska can still shoot the ball. But he'll be more aggressive.
FUN SEASON AHEAD. BUCKLE UP.
October 29th, 2013 at 7:52 PM ^
- Oh yeah, I actually forgot about McGary. That's funny.
- That Concordia fan section is *WILD*
October 29th, 2013 at 7:52 PM ^
Wow we look damn good. I know it's only Concordia but 60 points in the first half without McGary.

October 29th, 2013 at 7:54 PM ^
So if you are the Concordia coach, what do you tell your players at half time?
October 29th, 2013 at 7:56 PM ^
It's an exhibition game vs. the #9 D1 team in the country. Who cares? Just go have fun and try and get better.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:00 PM ^
lol yeah, just try to improve from here. There won't be any tougher ones the rest of the way. At least it's not like football, where if you're completely overmatched it also means you'll be beat the hell up by the end of the game.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:06 PM ^
I mean, what if 5 of us MGoBloggers went and played? It'd be a similar result. What would we say?
Just keep playing...and first rounds on me.
I don't think anyone would truly be hurt that this Michigan team is kicking our ass.
October 29th, 2013 at 7:58 PM ^
We could still hold them under 120?
Keep your heads up, we don't play them again. Ever.
October 29th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
Great opportunity here. Have fun and work on your game.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:05 PM ^
Well it's almost like you're in it now. This might be the closest you get, so enjoy this second half!
October 29th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
Anybody know if they have a sideline producer?
October 29th, 2013 at 7:58 PM ^
Your cameraman on the court should have a headset and he should just point to her and tell her "go" when she's standing next to Beilein. It's not hard.
He should be listening to the "booth" and he should be able to hear them say "and now we're going to go down to the floor where (such and such) is standing by with Coach Beilein."
October 29th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
i think we're going to win, you guys.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:00 PM ^
I honestly think that Concordia could come out in the 2nd half with Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Lebron, Dwight Howard, and Kurt Rambis (just because) and we would still probably win this game just by slowing it down.

60-19...at halftime.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:02 PM ^
yeah, you said RGIII and your mic is still on and very loud.
I love hearing this "off mic" banter between the announcers. I'm waiting for him to talk about how drunk he got last night and banged some girl, then woke up in the morning and realized it was a tranny. Or something like that.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:05 PM ^
I'm probably enjoying it too much. That kind of stuff just interests me. He was really pumped that he said swagger during the first half.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:02 PM ^
Am I the only one enjoying this creepy halftime coverage? It's all there: Camera panning over unsuspecting fans, event staff guy with rough voice meeting up with long lost aquaintances. The student crew might not be amazing, but at lease the guys seem genuinely pumped to be working the game.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:02 PM ^
Think they forgot to turn off their mics for a second...
October 29th, 2013 at 8:03 PM ^
I'm nervous. What if GRIII dunks from the 3pt line? How will we know they scored it correctly? It's never been done before! These things shouldn't happen to a fanbase like ours.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:03 PM ^
What is the score? Just got back, no stream will load
October 29th, 2013 at 8:09 PM ^
-1 you suck
I can be needlessly obnoxious too
October 29th, 2013 at 8:14 PM ^
...but it was repeated twice while at halftime. I had to. It's the MGoBlog in me.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:17 PM ^
It happens
I should have checked above
October 29th, 2013 at 8:03 PM ^
We cant rebound, or play defense. Stauskas is just a shooter, They cant beat pressure. Not athletic enough, and they take crazy shots. FIRE BEILIEN. /s
Do i get anything for the first angry basketball post?
October 29th, 2013 at 8:06 PM ^
according to MGoBlue's stat page, we are winning all the categories except two (and they are related).
Who can guess which categories we are loosing for the first half?

Offensive rebounds and 2nd chance points. We are just hitting too high a percentage.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:08 PM ^
The team read this and decided to get like 5 offensive rebounds in one possession...
October 29th, 2013 at 8:09 PM ^
um. Now we're tied with 2nd change pts and winning the offensive rebound stat.
We've being selfish.

October 29th, 2013 at 8:11 PM ^
This team is geniunely FUN to watch. We have a great coach and we have an intriguing team that went from 2 guys and an awesome supporting cast to a "great young team."
It wouldn't surprise me if we set some kind of wacky B1G record on most number of different players to lead the team in scoring for a game. I can name at least 8 guys.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:09 PM ^
This is now NBA Jam...
October 29th, 2013 at 8:10 PM ^
72-19
that score just looks funny.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:10 PM ^
ALMOST doesn't seem fair?
October 29th, 2013 at 8:10 PM ^
No doubt the chemistry is there... No doubt the talent is there... This season looks bright.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:10 PM ^
just went full "Not Just A Shooter" on Stauskas. It was finish-your-drink worthy.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:10 PM ^
FIRE BIELIN
October 29th, 2013 at 8:13 PM ^
Too busy posting on this shit and didn't know the 2nd half started...what did I miss?
Clearly 18 points in 5 minutes.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:14 PM ^
You missed Stauskas being more than just as shooter, GRIII thinking he is part of NBA Jam, and a demonstration of how to offensive rebound.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:16 PM ^
...if you think I won't rewatch this game when it's on BTN Thursday night, you're crazy.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:16 PM ^
Am I wrong for thinking this team could be better than last year?
October 29th, 2013 at 8:18 PM ^
Last year's team almost (and should've) won the National Championship.
That said, I know what you mean. That's a big "COULD." They are going to have to get better each game, and they should.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:32 PM ^
Should've? Wat?
October 29th, 2013 at 8:23 PM ^
I've had the same thoughts... A year of experience and the off-season have proven to be huge in these guys' development... I'm excited.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:19 PM ^
I think we need to step off the gas now... This is starting to be embarrassing.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:22 PM ^
And you have guys in all new roles. I know it's embarassing, but think about that. Not one player except maybe Jon Horford is even remotely in a role he played last year.
GRIII needs rep at the 3. LeVert needs PT. Stauskas needs rep as a top option. Morgan even needs reps at the 4.
October 29th, 2013 at 8:19 PM ^
...you all still think he's overrated?
