2012 Davey O'Brien Semifinalists announced...Denard on the list
The semifinalists for the best quarterback award were announced today, notables are: Landry Jones (Oklahoma), Matt Barkley (USC), Geno Smith (WVU), Collin Klein (KSU), EJ Manuel (FSU).

Is QB play that bad this year that they are scrambling for candidates? Looking DR's stats on yahoo just in the big 10 and you'll see he's no where near the top with the exception of INT at 9.
Sorry, but Denard is not one of the best QBs in the country right now. He can get the job done more than he can't but he is mostly consistently inconsistent.
I love the guy but I still long for a competent passer.

I guess since Denard plays the position of quarterback, he's in the running...even though he's not very good at the throwing aspect of the position.
