2011 tickets - will their be ALL in Packs again, or will it be a split 3 or 4 game package
but I am hoping for split season packages (Maize/Blue) like I was able to pick up last year
AD, they would not commit to any packages. That sounds cryptic to possibly mean, if there are any tickets left over after the sesaon tickets, Alumni tickets, and expanding student section, MIGHT be available to package deals.
I would not hold my breath however.
My general, slightly-informed understanding was that most of those tickets, other than singles, were available only due to the Athletic Department's "banking" of tickets for the reshuffling associated with the Stadium renovation. And that with the completion of aisleway widening on the east side for 2010, and the completion of west side aisleway widening for 2011, that most of the nonrenewable packages would be gone.
So I'll be interested to hear from somebody who knows better.
I think you are right. The AD would not answer my questions directly but hinted that packages would be available only after all other requests are filled.
but it didn't happen last year. Plus, all of the aisles and benches we added in the past four years before the towers were put in, I never understodd why they would have done this just to replace all of them shortly thereafter.
Last season the wider seats and aisles with railings were installed on the East Side where the Block M is painted on the bleachers. The rest of the stadium to my knowledge is suppose to be completed by this season.
Correct. East side is done. The wider aisles took out two seats from my row, and I think one seat from the row across the aisle. That configuration might change around the Stadium; I'm not sure. So yes; as was announced and detailed all along, and on-schedule, the interior of the bowl is losing seats to the aisles. With all-new seat numbering as well.
This link is a photo from just about a year ago at this time; can be clicked on. And if you look closely at the row coming up through Section 1 (I have some personal experience in that area) you see how they expanded the aisle asymmetrically, by virtue of the old row numbers on the concrete that became off-center with the new benches.

It's true that there was a lot of serious under-the benches concrete work done in 2007-08. But I think that was merely preparatory for the later work. What they were doing then was shoring up the below-ground bowl, as a kind of foundation for the later sideline concourses, while they could still get equipment like this in (Summer '07 photo):
It's too bad it still has the old scoreboards installed; I would love to see that same picture flanked with two ginormous HD scoreboards. The Spring Game was played without scoreboards, IIRC.
... will there?
From what I have found out like others have said is there will not be any All In packs/nonrenewable season tickets.
I received Renewable Season tickets this season and I only put myself on the waiting list back in October. From the letter I received it looked like anyone that donated a minimum of $100 for season tickets before the deadline in January received a renewable season ticket offer. It seems like saving the inventory for the last few seasons allowed them to offer alot of new renewable season tickets.
Was that this year? I donated over $100 have a UM degree, and I didn't get anything in the mail yet this year. I thought I had been on the waiting list for years.
Yes that was this year. My application came on Saturday and my buddy is hoping to see his in the mail today. One way to check is going to : http://www.mgoblue.com/tickets/tickets-m-footbl.html
And click on "Renew Online" under season tickets. Make sure you are logged in to your online account. After clicking Renew Online if it has a link that says "Application for New Football Season Tickets" then you have tickets and you are just waiting for it to come in the mail. This is how my buddy found out he was offered.
According to the letter it said if someone donated $100 using the correct form back in November - January then they were offered 2 End Zone season tickets.
Hopefully this helps. Good Luck!
Thanks for the info. It appears I did not use the magical form. But hope is not completely lost...
when you donated, you should have received a letter from the finance department. This letter is basically saying thanks; but, it also serves as a receipt.
Take the letter and fax it to the AD. Tell them your account number and ask them to update your priority points. This is an extra step or two but it will get you on the good side.
I am really starting to boil over right now. I have a degree and joined the waitlist last year, along with making a $600 donation. By my count that should be 11 points, but my account still isn't updated and shows 0 points. I have been contacting them monthly since January and they keep telling me everything will be fine.
Now I hear that a $100 donation is getting tickets.....I sure hope I didn't miss the boat.
if you send me an email I can recap it for you. I think you might be in the same situation as me.
That is too bad. When you are on the wait list they send you something in November from the Victors Club with the proper donation form in the envelope. Did you receive that and send in your $600 donation using that form?
I made a $300 donation but the form seemed to insinuate that a $100 donation was receiving tickets but I don't know if that is true as I made a larger donation. But your $600 donation seems like it would have gotten you tickets. Good luck if figuring it out.
I joined the waitlist on November 15, perhaps I wasn't on the list before that form was mailed. I see a previous poster has included that form, which I have never seen before now.
I would call the ticket office or the Victors Club office to figure out the issue at this point.
Good Luck.
The Victors Club only updates/recalculates points every two years...
You can of course ask them specific questions about your own situation, your points, and the timing of donations, etc. I'd never presume to speak for them. But I know for a fact that they don't update/recalculate every year, and all of my points-related correspondence mentions that fact in the fine print...
in a panic. I would go to the ticket office in person if you can.
They goofed my priority points up but I called every week and sent emails for confirmation. They eventually got my points corrected.
I waitlisted in Dec10, donated $500 in Jan11, Priority points updated in Mar11 and Season Ticket offer in Apr11.
The RR era helped bump me up the list. A lot of people eaither didn't renew or pay their PSLs. I'm more than happy to slide in sooner than I expected on account of some fair-weather fans.
...and it's all or nothing for season tix. I actually would prefer a 3-4 game package as I live in St. Louis, and I can only make it up to AA for a couple of games a year. I'm not sure what I am going to do just yet. My tix would be in one of the end zones. I would take the bst 3 games for myself, then try to sell the rest of them. But I'm not sure that I would be able to sell a game v. Eastern at face value ($60.00/ticket).
if you can afford it. You can always sell on ebay, stub hub or here on Mgoblog. Hell you might even make a profit AND get to see your favorite games for free.
I placed myself on the wait list just a couple of weeks ago. However, that was obviously way past the deadline. I am only looking for a single seat season ticket. I spoke to a nice lady at the ticket office this morning. She told me that though the deadline had come and gone, I should call back after May 13. She said if people that had renewals decide not to renew then I may be able to make my donation at that point in time. I will keep my fingers crossed. Otherwise, I will have to hope to buy a ticket off my uncle, or to get them as packages if they are available.
Just got my letter for my first renewable season tickets after 2 years of doing the All-in package. I'M FIRED UP! $100 gets you end zone tickets and $101-$999 gets you 2 tix in the blue section which is where I fell. What's interesting is that the donation number came way down but the per seat donation to keep your tickets in subsequent years went up to $125 per annum in the blue section. It comes to about $610 per seat per year in the blue section (not counting your original donation).
GO BLUE!
and to think I have $500 when all I needed to give was $101. Oh well, maybe I will get closer.
Is there anyone in the Blue section that would like to comment about their row assignment? good or bad?
Im hoping for sec 20 row 20.
I wish I had the time to get back as much as I'd like to. The partial season packages are more useful for me. I've still got my fingers crossed for the 2 game package (ND + SDSU).
I'm a bit perplexed by my season ticket renewal (which I got in the mail today). In the section for extra tix for Eastern and Western are listed at $70/per.
WTF?!?!?!?!?!?
Big 10 games are cheaper. Why are extra tix against MAC teams so much?
@ $32 per ticket.
