If the defense stays healthy- I believe they can hold down the Utah offense (10-14 pts) then the offense should be able to get going. Also good defense means a lot of short drives for the offense. We can SHOCK THE WORLD

One way I would like Rich Rod to adapt his offense would be to incorporate the tight ends. Missouri had a deadly offense last year with Chase Coffman and Martin Rucker. Those two were a very difficult match up for linebackers. Rodriguez may not recruit TEs in the future, but it would serve him well to utilize what we have now.

that passing to the TE is typically read-heavy.  his routes are in the middle of the field that require reading the defense very well.  we're probably not going to have that this year.

"· Lopata added a 56-yard field goal during Friday's full-contact scrimmage after the offensive possession stalled." !!!!!!! Was the defense on the field trying to block this thing? If so, and Lopata can hit kicks from further than 43 yards with any degree of regularity, he can be a serious asset to the team.

Colin, I seem to recall the typical football analyst blowhards referring to quality TEs as security blankets for young QBs. My understanding was that the young QB knows that as a later read, the TE option is a safe throw to a player who is likely to have a physical advantage over his coverage, and the young QB skips other available options to default to the TE. But this may just be TV blowhard hot air.
