MGoCocktail:Rutgers

As the band played on Saturday night.  I exited BPone stage and entered apathetic stage.   This was after I spent a better of an hour trying to set up a tv and antenna at the Northern cabin.  So if you’re scoring at home, I spent 50 minutes setting up the tv to enjoy 7 minutes of real time enjoying interesting football.

I will watch Saturday, possibly because it is one of the few things that seem normal in the year of Covid.  Possibly because it’s a holy day of obligation.  I have a feeling I will be looking for outs, maybe hockey, maybe that Bedlam game. It looks it could be fun.

Jack Rose

Even though I’ve never seen the movie (hey maybe something to do Saturday night), I recognized one of the most popular drinks to come out of the Garden State shares its name with the two lead characters.

                                             Brown and Harbaugh probably

A prohibition drink concocted in the 20-30’s, its name derives from the Applejack brandy used and the rose color the cocktail imbues once the grenadine is added.

1.5 oz   Apple Brandy- Applejack is the original, but any apple brandy will be fine

.75 oz Lemon juice

.5 oz Grenadine

Lemon/Lime

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice.  Shake until ice cold for 20 seconds or until cold.  Strain into a martini or couple glass.  And garnish with a lime or lemon spiral.

Enjoy a couple as an after-dinner drink, before moving to the hard stuff for the night game.
