Burst of Impetus
* The burst of impetus occurred in the 2nd quarter when Michigan called two timeouts on the same drive to set up a go-ahead touchdown. I thought this was a key moment in the game because in prior weeks, Michigan had not been able to capitalize on opponents' turnovers. Unfortunately, you can't call a timeout before every offensive play. The game is moving too fast for Borges and the offense. Nine days ago, BiSB reminded us of the legal concept called "itsa gonna speek" (or something like that, I never took Latin.) He wrote, "There are some times when the thing that happens is so obviously wrong that the blame speaks for itself." That's where I'm at today.
I think I'll stop now.

If I added things correctly, that comes up to ... (gulp) ... 76 TFLs.

Nicely done, in a miserable sort of way. You could also use the Jason Isbell take on the same thing, from Goddamn Lonely Love:
Stop me if you've heard this one before
A man walks into a bar and leaves before his ashes hit the floor
Stop me if I ever get that far
I'll take two of what you're having and I'll take all of what you got
To kill this goddamn lonely, goddamn lonely love
Kind of an ode to Devin Gardner and the fans who feel a fraction of the misery he feels right now.

We've given up 103 TFLs in 11 games, and recorded only 63. Almost everybody will say we have a good defense, and rightly so.
I didn't notice Dileo out there today, and after having a decent game last week, Smith got zero carries. He's only lost 1 yard rushing all season (granted, on only 15 carries, but still) so I guess he doesn't fit with Borges game plan.

Al goes about things the wrong way? He is human and he needs to be loved just like everybody else does.

Res ipsa loqitor (sp).
The thing speaks for itself. Yes, this offense is unbelievable and should not be performing at this level. We have 3-4 talented receivers who should be on the field almost every play. You don't use games as practice opportunities and it is so lame (and a bunch of other words I will not put on the Internet) to blame Denard for our current offensive state when in fact our running game probably looks similar tp this year the last two years without the guy.
There is a major problem with scheme it is too complicated. These are college guys who don't have nearly as many hours to practice complicated offensive schemes. I think you can run a Manball style offense similar to Alabama and Stanford and be immensely successful but you have to be smat about doing it.
There are mitigating circumstances to the performance of the offense but it really is looking like RichRod (yes I said he-who-must-not-be-named) with the DBs specifically and defense in general except this time it is with the O Line specifically and the offense in general.
Dayeinu. Enough's enough. Let Al and othe offensive staff finish the season but then spend the top notch money you are spending on them and spend it on people that are actually worthy of that money.
