[Ed-M: Comments disabled (apologies to the 99% who kept them in bounds). The last time this got published it was deleted because it came with an endorsement. I'm leaving it on the board this time because it involves an important former Wolverine and makes no judgement. Comments are just asking for trouble.]

Ummm your ending paragraph is a GREAT example of why the no politics rule is on the board. Things get too personal too fast. Besides there are far more fun things to argue about here that are within the scope of the blogs purpose.

New blog suggestions:
Mgopoliticsblog.com
Mgo2012electionsblog.com
Mgorepublicansblog.com
mgodemocratblog.com
I am sure all of the above titles are available and would be much more appropriate for people who are interested in reading about politics. I prefer Mgoblog because it's about MICHIGAN SPORTS.

Again, I love Charles Woodson but there are other places - like talkingpointsmemoc.om - where these types of debates can go on. Let's keep this site only for dicussions of high school boys, tight ends, and how much we love the Swedes and the progeny of Tim Hardaway.

Sports do not exist in a vaccum...
Although they will soon if the black hole we call politics keeps sucking (You just suck, you just suck, you just suck, you just suck) everything in.

He was a great player here and has done a lot for Mott, but I can't say I would vote for him. I need to know what he stands for, what issues he believes in and how strongly. I understand his position on this issue and with him being a union member himself I wouldn't expect him to take any other position.

This is how you know you're wrong.

No good can come from a post that includes that disclaimer/statement. If anyone ever finds themselves typing something similar in the future, remember: No good will come from that post.
P.S. I love Woodson as the next guy but I couldn't give a sh-t about his political viewpoint. Being a professional athlete does not make him a political spokesman, even if I do (or do not) agree with his position.

I'm just glad nobody in the 2008 class was named Barack Obama/Joe Biden or John McCain/Sarah Palin. Things could have gotten really awkward around here.
