SIAP: Is Borges coaching the QBs?
General consensus is that our 2 coaching vacancies will be filled on defensive side (DBs, DL). That would mean 5 Offensive coaches and 4 Defensive.
That means that we would be left without a true QB coach. Would this mean that Borges would coach QBs? I don't see any other assistant coaching such a vital position. I guess it might also depend on what Singletary ends up doing.
If this topic was already addressed, feel free to take this post off.

How necessary is it to have a defensive line coach if both the DC and HC's specialty is the DL?

Mattisons specialties are front 7 and best with LBs

wasn't trying to be mean in any way with my comment, not on happy wednesday at least.

But does anyone know if Brian has plans for a new banner yet?

Would rather they bring in a QB coach than DL coach...lot's of DL coaching experience already with GMAT and Hoke.
January 19th, 2011 at 9:06 PM ^
the problem with that is bringing in 6 Offenseive coaches and 3 Defensive coaches. You can't have only 3 D coaches. Right? Unless Singletary coaches DBs?
January 19th, 2011 at 9:23 PM ^
I said this in another thread, it's better to have balance, but with Hoke and GMAT, an LB and DB, that leaves 6 for the offense. Hoke and GMAT could take the D line. 6 for the offense is a lot but Broges doesn't seem like he really recruits so get another recruiter for the offense. Maybe a QB coach with some Florida ties, who is out of a job right now.

Doesn't the defense need as many coaches as it can get?
In any event, Loeffler may be headed to Baton Rouge to become Les Miles's OC, at least according to this.

That would suck for Loeffler to go there. IMHO, with Mattison and Hoke, those are good coaches that can coach and recruit. The experts know better. I am just worried about recruiting on the offensive side. You need a Hoke or Mattison recruiter for the offense.

Motion to start a petition in favor of Scott Loeffler as QB coach and principal offensive recruiter

You can't coach speed.
