When will the staff changes come?

Submitted by RagingBean on

A word of framing up front, this thread (or at least my intent with this thread) is based on the presumption that Rich Rodriguez will be retained as the Head Coach at Michigan but that there will be changes made to his coaching staff. That being said, I think most of us agree that Greg Robinson is not long for Schembechler Hall.

Assuming that the firing of Gerg is a given at this point, when does the ax fall? Will we see it come next week in the immediate aftermath of the regular season? Do we try to bring in a new coordinator in time for the bowl practices/game? Or will we see a temporary DC in the bowl game with the new guy not really arriving until later in the winter?

Just listened to Herbie....He said that there are rumors up here in the north that RR could possibly be let go by friday and that Harbaugh would jump on a grey hound bus to be the coach here.

The worst thing that could happen RR being let go...I personally do not see that happening with the explosive offense he has put together and Denard breaking all these records. That alone is why he will be the coach for another year atleast.

2nd worst thing is to fire GERG and hire within the program...no one inside the program on defense is worth a shit...loyalty or not.  everyone should be let go.  Even Gibson...DB's the first 3 season were awful and special teams speaks for itself.

Of Gerg being fired on Monday and elevating Bruce Tall to interim DC, see what he can do over the next month, while simultaneously searching for other options. Michigan is not the destination it was three years ago and there's a lot of uncertainty with RR moving forward. I just don't see us getting a top of the line DC right now. It will have to be an up and coming guy, possibly a position coach.
