UM was late in offering Valdez and that upset him. This could really come back to hurt us. An in-state kid who really liked UM but got put off because they were so slow to act. I hope he becomes all SEC down there.

No one is ever happy. We either offer too many kids and 3* prospects with no other BCS offers commit or we don't because we are taking a chance with better* prospects on the board and guys like Showers commit elsewhere. What exactly do you want? It's not a precise science. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. I'm sure we'll end up with a solid cornerback prospect this year, someone who the coaches are happy with, and on National Signing day no one will remember Valdez Showers.
*better in the eyes of the coaches who can properly evaluate prospects

We have to keep the in-state studs, its that simple. All things being equal, I want the Michigan kid over the Florida kid.
