Carr excited about retirement
Detroit News article on Lloyd Carr and retirement.
tremendously excited?
Five years ago? No, wait, that was him beating Florida at the Capital One Bowl. It just wasn't his offense.
Be nice now and don't neg me off the planet...just having some fun. I really do like Carr. Class man, fine football coach. Good luck and good health to him.
The Capital One Bowl was 2.5 years ago. I don't even want to know what you've been doing for the past 2.5 years that you think it was 5 years ago.
I hope that Carr has a long and enjoyable retirement. He certainly put in his time at Michigan. He was not always popular, but in my mind, he was a great coach and is an ever greater man.
His 122-40 record with one Natl Championship in 13 seasons is every bit as good as Lou Holtz' 100-32-2 record with one Natl Championship in 11 seasons at ND. Unfortunately for Carr he didn't succeed Gerry Faust. As time passes and RR's record improves Carr will get more credit for his accomplishments. Personally I'd be more excited if Lou Holtz retired.
Lou Holtz also offered Carr a coaching job at Notre Dame. Thank god he declined.
And was the runner up for the Wisconsin job, behind Alvarez.
