DeSean Jackson vouches for Donovan Warren on the ESPN live draft chat: deseanjackson10: On a side NOTE; that draft got me hot! Pickn all these weak c0rners! B4 My LiL bro DWarren. Means I gotta serve ALL the teams that passed up

Didn't all the teams pass up on him, almost twice now? Does that mean he's just going to play hard every game? I hope so. I guess he could take it easy vs. the Bears.

Is there really a chance that the Lions can get Bruce Campbell or Everson Griffin? Even Golden Tate would be fine...this is a crazy draft.

I love the Jets fans reaction video. Can't wait till the later rounds and they unleash the "QBs taken ahead of Brady" video. (Surprised we haven't seen the Mel vs. Tobin video yet).

Charles Brown off the board. Down goes one of the good project LTs. And there goes Veldheer. Looks like Campbell's the last of the Round 2-3 LTs left. PS. I hope TT knows what he's doing taking Mike Neal. Not really a huge position of need and could still have taken a LT to shore up the OL for the future. We'll see how that plays out. Lots of talented WRs left as well. Decker, Lafell, Shipley.

Yes, I think Detroit is fine with Backus at LT. In the best of worlds, Detroit gets a LT and throws Backus inside, where he should be. It would make the OL alot stronger. Theres still a elephant in the room though. Thats Jared Gather being available. Ravens have their OTs and want to get rid of the contract. He's a Pro Bowl LT and only 24 I believe.

be a good pick at #66. He's overrated and plays with terrible technique(he literally back-pedal instead of kick step). He doesn't play with mean streak and tenacity. He didn't really dominate D2 at Hillsdale like a guy in his size should have done. He was very good, but not dominant. He's a big time project.

I actually wanted the lions to get this guy with their 4th round pick. He is better than people give him credit for. Hes very physical. Everyone thought Levy was a terrible pick in last years 3rd round and he turned out to be good. I sill want to see who this secret linebacker is Gunther has been talking about.

So this guy next door got locked out of his apartment yesterday and I drove him to his friends' house where he had an extra key. I have just been chilling here watching the draft and he just showed up with a case of Heineken as a thanks for driving him out there. What a guy! Best draft ever.

There OL is fine for now. What they HAVE to find are CB's(check), safety, and a OLB. Those are infinitely more pressing needs than drafting a OL who will sit for at least a year. Campbell is a garbage player. Great measurables, but he hasn't done anything on the field. Campbell would have been a Millen pick.Speivy meanwhile excelled as a CB in Iowa's defense. He could play safety if CB doesn't work out. He fits a need eitherway.

I would agree with you. I think Campbell is a good risk to take in the 3rd. After Campbell, the LT talent drops off far. I don't get how people can't see that the Lions absolutely HAVE to have OL help. Their OL is garbage and until they fix it( yes they need to fix it) they are still a mediocre team. But I agree on Spivey. Hes a good pick at that spot.

It isn't elite, but it is far from bad. They do need a LT, but that player isn't Bruce Cmapbell who did ABSOLUTELY nothing on the field at Maryland. Why you would waste a 3rd on a a workout warrior who in all likelyhood would not help the Lions? Kelly Butler, Juan Roque, Aaron Gibson..ugh, I've seen enough crappy OT's come through Detroit. They should be smart and wait until next year when they will surely have another top ten pick and draft a guy then. Wasting money on a chump like Campbell is no answer. They got themselves a guy who at the very least can be a capable nickle CB or a solid S to go with Delmas.

So you really want to have Stafford getting banged up for another year? You have to protect your QB, and the Lions simply can't do that. Out of the top 5 OL on the lions, there's only 2 that I would consider to be decent or have potential and thats Cherilus at RT and Sims at one of the guards. If the Lions were smart and moved Backus back to a more natural position for him, guard, I would consider him to be a pretty good option. Backus just isn't a LT. And even then, they aren't anywhere near the top of the league when it comes to talent. Lions need alot of talent infused into the group. Theres still 4 rounds left. Campbells graded pretty high for the 3rd round. Lions don't like him? Fine. Now what are they going to do in the last 4 rounds to fix it? Not too many options with the upside of Campbell. Lions have been a bad team forever. Look back and find one common theme for all these teams. Bottom 5 in the league OL play (garbage). They HAVE to fix it. Until they focus on fixing it, they'll continue to draft skill players and they'll continue to bust out.

Huh. And I thought it had as many players in it as every year, barring the odd extra one awarded by the League. Sigh.

Young- "Well, he didn't have a choice". Shut up Steve. Is he trying to be a dick? And Boomer, who does have a rep as kind of a dick, doesn't even seem like he wants to be there. He bristles at directors, guests, co-hosts. Man...you work 10 hours a month. Get over yourself. As I said yesterday, Gruden surprised me how full of win he is, Kiper is Kiper - always fun/funny, and Jackson is the gold standard. Edit: but ESPN, it's like tradition. I can flip over to NFL Net, but I can't turn away.

ESPN has Warren as the 8th best corner left. Minor is the 8th best RB left. Maybe he will get taken in the 7th round. Lefevour may be the next QB taken, although Kafka and Pike are up there.

2/3 of the Tony Moeaki highlights were vs. Michigan. And the no OSU players taken is going from mildly humorous to scary in that they are losing nobody. This draft is taking a turn for the depressing.
